There is also an Irene in Constantine Manasses and no doubt others, as it is a common Greek name. m.e. 04:55, 4 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Temporary redirect to Hurricane Irene (2011)

edit

Not to sound overly dramatic, but as of this moment my guess is that most searches for "Irene" are people looking for information about the hurricane threatening the US Eastern seaboard, and as such quick access to information may well serve the public interest. I'm redirecting Irene to that page, with plans to remove the redirect when this crisis ends. Hythlodayalmond (talk) 21:28, 27 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

An IP has undone the redirect, FYI. ...Dynamic|cimanyD... (talk|klat)  22:04, 27 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
I reverted back to my redirect. No explanation and no user page adds up to an invalid undo, in my mind.Hythlodayalmond (talk) 06:41, 28 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
And Miguel AG has set an automatic reversion which killed my edit. I await an explanation. Hythlodayalmond (talk) 06:44, 28 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
You should ask Miguel AG yourself if you want to know why your edit was reverted. But I will say that the redirect isn't a good idea, because anyone looking for any of the other things on the list wouldn't be able to easily find them. That's what disambiguation pages are for. ...Dynamic|cimanyD... (talk|klat)  12:54, 28 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
I've left a message on Miguel AG's talk page. ...Dynamic|cimanyD... (talk|klat)  13:08, 28 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
A link has been added at the top. ...Dynamic|cimanyD... (talk|klat)  13:24, 28 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
Hurricane Irene has now dissipated. What should be done about the link on the top? Miguel AG(talk) 03:30, 29 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
I've removed it and updated the Hurricane Irene (2011) text. ...Dynamic|cimanyD... (talk|klat)  13:10, 29 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
