December 2017 spam
editPlease do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Inveniam viam. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. —David Eppstein (talk) 11:50, 7 December 2017 (UTC)
- Sir,
- jostens.com, which along with the absurd version "Ibimus viam inveniam aut faciam" you had tolerated since 17 April, is advertising or promotion allright, but https://www.usna.com/page.aspx?pid=700 by United States Naval Academy Alumni Association & Foundation is definitely not. Nor are
- http://hdl.library.upenn.edu/1017/d/archives/20050203019 nor
- https://penncurrent.upenn.edu/for-the-record/for-the-record-class-of-1893-memorial-gate.
- Providing a photo of the Memorial Gate is simply more informative than Thomas, George E.; Brownlee, David Bruce (2000).
- And instead of just writing of "first person plural" only, it makes sense to add "Inveniemus aut faciemus viam".
- In http://www.york-house.com/ (Fn 1) I could not find Inveniam &c. (it's in the crest, but illegible on the start-page)
- http://repearyhs.org/ (Fn 7) has "Find a way or make one"
- Chigwell Junior School Parents' Handbook 2009–2010 (Fn 8): pdf no longer accessable. --Vsop.de (talk) 14:17, 7 December 2017 (UTC)
