Talk:International Age Rating Coalition

ClassInd edit

@Betty Logan: Brazil 18 is prohibitive. See [1]. Description says, "Departamento de Justiça, Classificação, Títulos e Qualificação (DJCTQ) - 18 (Prohibited for children and teenagers)". The other files([2], [3], [4], [5]) say, "Departamento de Justiça, Classificação, Títulos e Qualificação (DJCTQ) - 16/14/12/10 (Not suitable for younger than 16/14/12/10 years)". These show that 10/12/14/16 has no restrictions but 18 has prohibitions, don't they? BTW, ESRB clearly says, "Games with this rating contain content which the ESRB believes is generally suitable for those aged 17 years and older." for M, and "Games with this rating contain content which the ESRB believes is only suitable for those aged 18 years and older." for AO. These show that M has no restrictions but AO has prohibitions, don't they?Zenkaino lovelive (talk) 08:57, 6 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Brazil's classification prcess in broken into two parts: classification which are all advisory (see https://web.archive.org/web/20140929015641/http://portal.mj.gov.br/Classificacao/services/DocumentManagement/FileDownload.EZTSvc.asp?DocumentID=%7B25A80220-B0E3-47FD-923F-246B6184C3C6%7D&ServiceInstUID=%7B59D015FA-30D3-48EE-B124-02A314CB7999%7D]) and enforcement (for cinema and home video) carried out by the Brazilian Ministry of Justice. Therefore the 18 rating is only prohibited for films and advisory for everything else. Apparently the legal restrictions on ESRB in Canada only apply to purchased video games (and not to online content) so I have restored your changes. Betty Logan (talk) 09:21, 6 May 2018 (UTC)Reply

Is the Russian age rating system (RARS) part of IARC's system? edit

I've noticed the references to the Russian age rating system (RARS) all around IARC's official website, and most especially on this following webpage: https://www.globalratings.com/ratingsguide.aspx#russia

Is there any reason to believe that the RARS is part of the IARC in some way or form, or there had been intentions to introduce the RARS to IARC at some point? -˜˜˜ Hope(N Forever) (talk) 00:57, 11 May 2023 (UTC)Reply
