Talk:Infante Alfonso, Duke of Galliera

Latest comment: 16 years ago by Mcferran in topic Galliera numbering

OK.. this is my first attempt at translating an article from Spanish to English. Obviously, it is not perfect. Not sure how to translate some of the military titles and political organization names. The original has a LOT of internal links... some of which are, IMHO, not needed and a few that are for non-Spanish speakers.

I also need to check some of the links and category names. Thelmadatter 15:52, 3 August 2007 (UTC)ThelmadatterReply

Name edit

Shouldn't this article have Orléans in its name, rather than Orleans? Charles 04:04, 20 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Only if we want to mix the French and Spanish forms of his name. In Spanish Orleans has no accent, but Borbón does. In French Orléans has an accent, but Bourbon does not. Alfonso is almost always known by the Spanish form of his name. Noel S McFerran 04:45, 20 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Oh, I did not know that. Thanks! Charles 05:50, 20 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
Neither did I until I looked into the matter. This is why I enjoy editing Wikipedia articles - it forces me to learn things. Noel S McFerran 06:12, 20 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

Galliera numbering edit

There seems to be some disagreement about what number duke of Galliera Alfonso was. I have removed the number from the article, until the discussion here resolves itself. Noel S McFerran 10:21, 22 August 2007 (UTC)Reply
