Talk:Indian diaspora in Africa

Untitled edit

Hi Goo! Your topic is very fascinating and relevant. Good job on using a neutral tone to present the facts, I think your "present effects" section is a really good addition to the topic's page. To strengthen the content, maybe add some examples to contextualize the Indian experience in Africa, describe what it was like to be Indian in African societies, etc. Good work! - Shiraz de Vreede

Still lost: I think you can make some sub-sections to History since its so vast (and you're at the 100% liberty to do so). I would elaborate on pre-colonial contact (make a section for it), then make a section for colonial contact in which 3.5 million Indians were sent to Africa and elaborate on that atmosphere. Second paragraph, specify who's nationalism (I think it is India's nationalism but its not 100% clear). Maybe expand on Mahadev's point of view, its similar to China's beliefs on emigration, "send everyone around the world so we can learn about it and exchange ideas and commerce". Make a section about indentured servitude and its synonymity with the diaspora. The link is so strong it needs a title. You'll probably make a section for the diaspora today. With that being said, more stats! Its so cool! Maybe divide political and economic support. Check to see if there is current migration from India to Africa or Africa to India- that would be interesting. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Diego.Pa28 (talkcontribs) 18:02, 8 April 2019 (UTC)Reply
