Iranian nuetrality in WW2

IRIAF?

I ended up here from the random Page link and it jumps out to me that IRIAF isn't defined where it is used in the first sentence. Perhaps it should be obvious but I don't know what it means, perhaps someone could correct this so that the article is readable by people with all levels of familiarity with the subject. Thanks. F-14s Sabotaged?

Didn't I read somewhere the IIAF's F-14s were "allegedly" sabotaged by Grumman engineers as they fled Iran during the 1979 Iranian Revolution? —xanderer (talk) 21:46, 10 February 2009 (UTC)

Logo removed.

I took out the logo because of it's size interfering with the other photos in the article. See the previous versions for examples. Articseahorse (talk) 13:38, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

Thanks for explaining. Could the logo image not just be made smaller or, moved to another part of the article, so that it would not interfere with the other photographs? That could be a way around the issue. It is a relevant image for the article and would be a shame if it could not be preserved in it, in some way. --Dreddmoto (talk) 22:19, 22 August 2012 (UTC)

If we can make it smaller and find a better place that would be good. but But I do not know how to do that.

There is a way. Move all the images in the article, down by one space. That means, put the logo image in the position of what is currently the first image. Then, move the first image to the position of what is currently the second image. Continue in that way, until the last image is reached. When it is, move the last one down to a new position, where no image currently exists.

F-16s in the Iran Air Force.

Imperial era

In the section titled "Imperial era", there is information about Iranian F-14 Tomcats after, the 1979 Iranian revolution. It is the following:

Although after the 1979 Iranian revolution, some of these planes were not in working order due to a lack of necessary spare parts, because of an American arms embargo and damage sustained on the aircraft during the Iraqi invasion (Iran–Iraq War). Some were brought back in to service, due to localised production of reverse-engineered, Iranian-made, spare parts as well as "cannibalism" (the process of taking working parts from damaged aircraft and using them to repair others).

Considering that this is about the Tomcats in the time after, the 1979 revolution; in other words, the Islamic Republic of Iran: it would make more sense to move that information down to, the section titled "Post-Islamic Revolution". The wording of, the first part of the sentence would have to be slightly modified, in order to do this. --Dreddmoto (talk) 12:57, 25 September 2012 (UTC)

Title of the article

For some unexplained reason the title of this article was changed to History of Iranian military aviation. This is misleading because it would give the impression to unfamiliar readers that the air force of Iran is the only form of military aviation in that country. That is clearly not the case considering the existence of the Islamic Republic of Iran Army Aviation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_Republic_of_Iran_Army_Aviation , the Islamic Republic of Iran Navy Aviation https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_Republic_of_Iran_Navy_Aviation and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps Aerospace Force https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_Revolutionary_Guard_Corps_Aerospace_Force

It would be more logical to change the title to reflect that. I suggest a change to Air force history of Iran. Views of others would be welcome. Dreddmoto (talk) 15:38, 15 October 2023 (UTC)
