NYU School Of Engineering's Merger With Polytechnic Institute Of Brooklyn In 1973.

This article fails to mention that, in addition to New York University’s finance difficulties in the late 1960s and early 1970s, the major impetus for The State Of New York's brokered merger of New York University's School Of Engineering and Polytechnic Institute Of Brooklyn into Polytechnic Institute Of New York, in 1973, was that New York University's School Of Engineering lost all its accreditations.

Split out NYU-University Heights

As a campus that existed for more than 50 years, I think NYU-University Heights should be its own article separate from this. I'm not sure *that* much info gets removed from this article, but I'm not sure.Naraht (talk) 11:35, 29 October 2023 (UTC)

On a side note, that campus still exists and is the present campus of the City University of New York's Bronx Community College. I think splitting out the campus is something worth considering. (As someone who has a COI with the City University of New York, however, I cannot comment further.) – Epicgenius (talk) 16:10, 13 November 2023 (UTC)

Epicgenius I'm surprised that a COI would prevent you from commenting. I'd be fine with comments from the President of the NYU even if they couldn't touch the article. And I expect the Statute of Limitations has run out on any legal issues about the sale to BCC. :)Naraht (talk) 18:01, 13 November 2023 (UTC)

@Naraht, ah, that sounds good then. I just wanted to make sure that my affiliation with the City University of New York didn't affect anything I said.

In that case, I would be in favor of splitting out the University Heights campus into a separate article. That campus is probably notable on its own, although at this point BCC has used it for half a century, which is why I was thinking that a separate article on the campus may need to mention both NYU and BCC. – Epicgenius (talk) 18:17, 13 November 2023 (UTC)
