Hitlerites? edit

Shouldn't that be Nazis? m.e. 05:52, 24 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Well, "Hitlerites" is the term that was used in the New York Times article: [1]. --Elonka 20:41, 24 January 2007 (UTC)Reply
The Nazis received about 16 percent of votes in the Volkstag elections of 1930. The Free City wasn't "a stronghold of Hitlerites" when Strasburger had a conflict with Ziehm in 1931 or in early 1932 when he left his office. Also, to blame only the city's officials for the numerous conflicts between the Free City and the Polish Commissioner is POVish and unbalanced. HerkusMonte (talk) 18:17, 17 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
This wording can be verified from the 1932 NY Times article.[2] Do you have an alternate source with a different interpretation? --Elonka 20:26, 17 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
Nice, but the text speaks clearly about "Nationalists and Hitlerities". They were numerous German nationalists that weren't Nazi. For example the DNVP party.--MyMoloboaccount (talk) 16:46, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
The general policy on Wikipedia, per WP:V is to stick closely to what sources actually say, rather than making new interpretations. See also WP:NOR. If you have a source which describes the situation differently, we can look into modifying the wording accordingly? Or we could modify the text in this article to make it clear that the wording came from the New York Times, like, "In a 1932 New York Times article, they said <stuff>." --Elonka 17:24, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
I was actually responding to Herkus Monte comment, not yours. Apologies for the confusion.I support your position here.--MyMoloboaccount (talk) 17:36, 19 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
