needs some editing, but the reference sources used certainly do establish notability
The line "occupying army in Germany" is vague and carries a negative connotation. After all, the Soviets also had an "occupying army" in Germany at that time as well. May we conclude that Mr. Van Dyke served in the US Army in Germany during the war and state "he served in the U.S. Army in Germany after the end of World War II"?
