...first described by Linnaeus in volume one of his 1753 tenth edition of his Species Plantarum. It's unlikely Linnaeus omitted H. viridis until his tentrh edition, which is the agreed-upon starting point for Linnaean binomial nomencalature, but not the starting-point of Species Plantarum. Eliminating "first" would solve ambiguities, but I hesitate for fear of being reverted.--Wetman (talk) 23:38, 10 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Well, I could argue that as 1753 is the official starting point of the binomial system then none before were official species descriptions as such.....................but yeah, might be just easier to remove the "first".....Cas Liber (talk · contribs) 00:06, 11 February 2015 (UTC)Reply
