Rename of Category

edit

Some of you may wish to participate in the discussion on renaming the category Armenian Genocide deniers to Armenian Genocide skeptics. The discussion is here. --Anthon.Eff (talk) 18:09, 1 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Bias article

edit

There is no mention of academic achievements of Heath Lowry. He changed the foundation history of Ottoman Empire. Article only deals with his views of Armenian Genocide. I wonder who wrote that???? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 92.45.247.210 (talk) 09:54, 23 January 2011 (UTC)Reply

NPOV claims

edit

I'm reverting multiple edits that were made with the claim that there is "too much weight placed on revisionism not taken seriously." I think the large deletion of information deserves some sort of explanation. I'm not sure what the claim is here, or how these edits bring the article back to WP:NPOV. Please discuss here. --Iamozy (talk) 23:50, 12 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

It feels like dragging the historian Heath W. Lowry's name through the mud Alexis Ivanov (talk) 23:58, 12 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
Okay. Please explain how the article is disparaging to Lowry. The article covers his career, his reviews, his publications, and his criticisms. Do you think that the article focuses too much on the criticisms? --Iamozy (talk) 00:01, 13 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
To summarize it for someone I assume with no knowledge on the subject, Lowry is more or less as credible as Joseph Goebbels. The Armenian Genocide is universally accepted among credible historians, giving any weight to Lowry's garbage violates WP:UNDUE. If a viewpoint is held by an extremely small (or vastly limited) minority, it does not belong on Wikipedia, regardless of whether it is true or you can prove it, except perhaps in some ancillary article.
User:Resnjari The above goes for all the articles you keep vandalizing as well. --Lasort101 (talk) 03:17, 14 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
User:Lasort101, i am vandalizing? On what grounds ? You have been going around and removing peer reviewed material, large chunks of it and giving very limited explanations of it if at all. If you want to do those types of big edits, first of you need to outlined them in the talkpage and gain consensus. Otherwise this can go to the noticeboards. I am very familiar with the literature on the Armenian genocide, as my interests on ethnic cleaning of Muslims in the Balkans have made me delve into that area too. I am no novice on the matter.Resnjari (talk) 06:05, 14 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
Doesn't work like that, I'm removing content that directly violates the guidelines. Please familiarize yourself with WP:WEIGHT. Armenian Genocide deniers are a small minority among historians. --Lasort101 (talk) 02:12, 18 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
Lasort101, This is an article on Heath Lowry, so providing accurate coverage of his work and views is not WP:UNDUE. You are deleting factual, referenced content to suit a bias that is not appropriate here. If you feel content needs to be added, by all means go ahead. --Iamozy (talk) 18:27, 18 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

It appears that multiple editors think that this article is violating WP:NPOV. One editor thinks the article is too critical of Lowry, another thinks the article gives too much credit to Lowry's research and opinions. To avoid edit-warring, I'm posting this claim to the NPOV Noticeboard. --Iamozy (talk) 18:59, 18 July 2016 (UTC)Reply
