Not only GP

edit

I looked into article history, and found out that previous short description about her abilities and achievements was removed in feb 2021, and replaced with GP as the only notable thing about her by locally overriding the short description [1]; Wikidata stil says

school girl mathematician who provided calculations for guns on Spitfire and Hurricane planes during World War Two

That change - to General Practicioner as the only thing of notice about her - seems to have been based on (a bit mis)created lead section a month before in 2021 [2]; by sources, she of course was a GP too, but not GP only. By source Dyslexic Advantage, and others:

She was a teen prodigy mathematician, a computer (meaning a skillful person who computes, the usual meaning of pre-electronic age), studied and graduated Medicine in London to enter RAMC in 1943. After WW2 she went to organized and lead a hospital for youngsters, then got trained, and went on practicing, doing research and publishing, as a psychiatrist.

Meet the young mathematician who helped design the Spitfire, the iconic aircraft that took part in the Battle of Britain, which started 80 years ago today.

I already started before looking into the article's history, and after that - if nobody objects - I intend to re-add the data about her that had been removed from lead section (somebody already added back to short description). Marjan Tomki SI (talk) 13:21, 29 July 2022 (UTC)Reply
