Improper or not

edit

Meh. Improper or not, I've never cared for having to conform to overly stiff and proper standards. Write in a way that feels natural.

Granted, Wikipedia is too picky; however this article seems far more like a FAQ rather than an encyclopedia article. It's supposed to give info about the game, not gameplay hints and the like. - Seph Belmont 02:02, 26 November 2006 (UTC)Reply

Article Revision

edit

I, too, edited quite a bit on the "you" and "your" inclusions. I changed most of them to "the player" or "the character" and followed up with subsequent subject-verb agreements. I also worked a bit with some phrasing that was hard to follow. If there is a serious problem with any of that, by all means, correct it.

This is entirely opinion, but it seems to me as if some of this was copied directly from some sort of how-to game guide. The overall tone of large chunks of it is not appropriate for an encyclopedia article, and I wonder if it belongs here. Someone who is more well-versed on the Wiki end might want to review and revise this, for integrity's sake.

I revised it, and will check back on it later. --Gray Porpoise 22:45, 19 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Somebody needs to add Manna and the other housewife to the characters section. --Anonymouse 11:33, 10 October 2006 (UTC)Reply

Article Revision

edit

As anyone who looked at the history knows, I've done quite a bit of revision to this article, mostly because I saw that it didn't read like a real encyclopedia article might. So I have taken out the "you" references and replaced them with "the player", "the character", or "your character" (The latter, I was a bit iffy about, so I might change that too at another time.)

I also rewrote a few sections, mostly just rewording them. I added a few bits of information to some of the girls' sections.

If anyone is for some reason displeased, talk to me about it and we can fix it.

MAJOR Clean up needed

edit

All right, it seems as if this thing is turning more into a guide than an actual article concerning the game. One does not really need to know the amount of hearts required to get a large wool. If Maplestory gets a tag stating that Wikipedia is not a guide, then so should this article. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by James Delgado (talkcontribs) 03:58, 12 January 2007 (UTC).Reply

To start off, the intro has unnecessary information about differences and plot, when really it should be a short summary about the game's style and basics, i.e. farming. James Delgado 04:02, 12 January 2007 (UTC)Reply

Chickens

edit

Should the last level be 'Golden Eggs' or 'P Eggs'? I wasn't sure when I was editing.

Necessary?

edit

Is the secrets and glitches sections really necessary, otherwise I beleive someone should delete it.

Remove tags

edit

Is the article cleaned-up enough to remove the tags?
I removed both tags because i think they're untrue now put them back if you feel they still belong.

Revision

edit

I made a lot of revisions to the article including: Removing information that was only helpful to those who play the game, Re-arranging some sections, expanding on the animals to make their sections less list-like, and removing the 'minor' characters that were listed. If anyone dislikes or disagrees with these changes then feel free to change them back.

There is also another glitch within the game. When asked to harvest grapes for the winery, talk to the priest of mineral town. He speaks in japanese-in the older versions before they fixed most of the problems that is.----Sage

X-Products?

edit

Are the X-items relevant enough to be included here? Kiko-Chan-64 03:52, 20 August 2007 (UTC)Reply

His name is Pete, NOT Jack

edit

Natsume has always chosen to call him Pete. Here's picture proof from the official Natsume website:

From the official Harvest Moon FoMT website: http://www.natsume.com/games/HM_fom/graphics/ss1.jpg

From the DS game Puzzle de Harvest Moon: http://www.natsume.com/games/PuzzledeHM/graphics/ss2.jpg

He was also called Pete in Harvest Moon 3: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:HM3intro.png

Please stop changing his name to Jack in the article. That is just a name that fans like to use, but it was never his real name. --- Akadewboy (talk) 07:46, 3 May 2009 (UTC)Reply

Cover art

edit

Did anybody notice on the cover art, it almost looks like he's kicking the dog! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.193.42.50 (talk) 21:43, 12 June 2009 (UTC)Reply

MFOMT is a sequel to FOMT

edit

Hello, I was reading the article and I think it should be mentioned that more friends is a sequel to the original. The evidence is this: In more friends of mineral town the mayor mentions the last owner moving away and NOT dying. This means that the owner of the farm in the original game failed and so he moved away thus leading into more friends of mineral town. Should I add this to the article? --Master1001 (talk) 21:55, 8 February 2010 (UTC)Reply

Clean-up Tag

edit

I believe this article, while no-where near perfect, is sufficiently cleaned up to warrent removal of the 'Clean-up' tag. I am going to remove it; if there is any criticism, please add it here. HMman (talk) 17:46, 14 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

The Nintendo Switch Remake

edit

I opt that this remake be given a separate article. It combined elements from both Back to Nature and Friends of Mineral Town and listing the Switch in platforms for the original, when another game such as the Trials of Mana remake is separated from the original. Well this Friends of Mineral Town remake is not adding a whole lot from a brand new perspective, it technically is from an overall standpoint when considering it combines elements from the original and GBA port. Therefore, it feels out of place to be in the same article as the GBA port of Back to Nature.
