Is it Quinzel or Quinzelle? I've seen both. Anyone got the official name, just for my pointless peace of mind?
- What about Duela Dent?
I guess she should be under Harlequin (comics) as thats how she spelled her name. I suppose there should be a pointer to that fact in the article though. Hueysheridan 02:20, 19 July 2005 (UTC)
- Also the first appearance is all wrong. She first appeared in the first few episodes of the Batman Animated Series, which was in the early 1990s long before the character was brought into the main DC universe continuity in Batman: Harley Quinn in 1999, which is not even her first comic book apearance as she appeared in the various Batman Animated titles long before that also.
- And shouldnt Dini and Timm's multi-award winning Mad Love graphic novel rate some mention here? it was where Harley's origin was originally presented after all, and it does bear the distinction of the only animated style comic that was actually adapted into an TV episode. Hueysheridan 02:20, 19 July 2005 (UTC)
Just a question here; has there ever been any concrete proof that Harley and the Joker have consummated their relationship? Batman altogether loves little subtexts, but someone said that they never did and I thought it rather unlikely that they would be together so long and NOT have sex. Any thoughts or answers?
Clean-up
This needs to be cleaned up, and the information on the tv and comic versions should be separated (info on Harley from the TV show is in her comics section). --DrBat 00:54, 14 June 2006 (UTC)
- Wouldn't know where to start, but, yes, the current formatting is very poor. --Liontamer 17:22, 28 June 2006 (UTC)
Made some changes so that the information from the TV series (and tAS-derived comics) are in that section, and the DCU section is only for DCU canon. I put a (possibly-too-extensive) summary of Batman: Harley Quinn in, but I wonder if more storylines from the Harley Quinn series should be referenced?

Controversial?
I removed the statement that Harley and the Joker's relationship is "controversial." Where is this supposed controversy? What arguments has their relationship caused? Has there been an uproar in the comics community, or the general public, over their relationship that I somehow missed? Controversial does not mean "unusual" "unorthodox" or "uncomfortable" (or even psychologically disturbed or disquieting, as may be the intended meaning here) as so many contributors to Wikipedia seem to think it does. Controversial means that a subject causes controversy; in other words, arguments. No one argues about Harley and the Joker's relationship that I have ever seen. RyokoMocha (talk) 03:05, 14 December 2007 (UTC)
- The Joker has always been pretty abusive with her. The new controvery is that she loves someone who wants to kill her. There's tons of dispute over their relationship in forums, but tring to cut off her head with a razor blade was the final straw for her.
Dark Knight?????
In the article, although it states it is a rumor, it says Harley Quinn will appear in the Dark Knight film. This seems inappropriate. It is pure speculation, and there is not a hint of truth behind the rumor. I actually think the whole Dark Knight section should be removed. --Lordkelvin 01:23, 4 September 2007 (UTC)
- It's true, imdb.com had Sarah Jayne Dunn as Harley in TDK. Just cause Nolan dismissively laughed it off does not make her inclusion an impossibility. Remember, he did say "We'll see." 24.17.73.18 (talk) 20:28, 21 February 2008 (UTC)

Here's a bit of research for someone to try and look up...
I seem to recall this one time that The Joker DID kill Harley. Blew her up, with a bomb. Anyway, her spirit ended up doing a hopscotch thing, jumping from body to body like Deadman could do. J'onn J'onnz, the Martian Manhunter, stumbled across the situation and with a bit of help from Zatanna and Batman... had Zatanna use magic to clone a new body for Harley's spirit to reside in. Used a piece of hair from a hairbrush! 68.9.151.104 (talk) 05:28, 15 March 2008 (UTC)GOF
That was not Joker who blew her up. She blew herself up accidentally with a dangerous prototype rocket pack kind of thing. It is in her specific comic line, not sure which issue though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.9.101.236 (talk) 07:22, 15 July 2008 (UTC)
I see this character is categorised as a fictional gymnast, yet there is no indication as to why in the article (only an edit comment saying the character went to college on a gymnastics scholarship) -- if this can be referenced, should it not be added to the article? -- ratarsed (talk) 11:11, 1 September 2008 (UTC)

Who did her voice in Batman TAS? She sounds just like Rhea Perlman. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.19.236.142 (talk) 08:06, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

First Appearance in a DC Comic Book
Does anybody know? Would be useful information to include. Renee Montoya's article lists her first appearance in a monthly even though, like Harley, she was created for the 1992 animated series first. If somebody could include Harley's first book appearance, that'd be awesome :). 58.108.252.251 (talk) 10:03, 16 December 2008 (UTC)
- It would, of course, depend on your meaning of "DC comic book." Do you mean her first appearance in the DC Animated Universe comics (like "Batman Adventures" and the seminal "Mad Love" that gave her origin story), or do you mean in the mainstream DC universe? Because she wasn't introduced to the main DCU until 1999, if memory serves (but don't quote me on that)... rdfox 76 (talk) 16:44, 17 December 2008 (UTC)
Harley/Ivy relationship
In addition to the issue mentioned where they appear to share a bed there's also a reference to their relationship being "more than friends" on page 19 of Batgirl Adventures (1998) #1 http://www.comicbookdb.com/issue.php?ID=31162
Here's a link to the page, but this is not my website or image so I don't know what the policy on posting something like that is: http://www.shoujoai.com/attach/99/564999/batgirlharley.jpg —Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.91.133.221 (talk) 20:33, 14 August 2008 (UTC)
- I propose we edit the Ivy/Harley section to reflect this. I wanted to ask on here first due to some questions about whether or not this is speculation. But I'd call this evidence enough to mention this nature of their relationship. Religion
Why is Harley listed in a category of Jewish characters? I see no proof of her Judaism.
- Is Harley Jewish? She was once categorized as being Jewish.
when, is there any reference in the comic or show? Is Quinzel jewish--The Judge 21:48, 7 September 2006 (UTC)
- Well, that dialect is typically assigned to 'New York Jews' but that doesn't necessarily -make- her Jewish.
- Yes, she is, see [1] Mad Jack 19:19, 15 September 2006 (UTC)
- Does anybody have a copy of Batman Adventures Holiday Special they can check? The reference provided by Mad Jack doesn't meet reliable sources criteria. CovenantD 16:36, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
- Hah, only 2 years late. Yes, I have one, and yes, Harley confirms that she IS jewish in the third panel of the first page of the comic's 'Harley and Ivy' section. Sadly, I'm too wikitarded to know how to cite this properly, so I won't even try to make the change myself. 154.5.36.202 (talk) 07:08, 7 August 2008 (UTC)
10-22-06 2:23 am; I'm going to put it in trivia that she is probably jewish because there are many references in the original show and the comics that she is jewish [the first episode she's in has her say "oy", a common yidish phrase, along with other examples I can't recall right now.]
- I dunno I say oy all the time and I'm not Jewish. Saying "oy" doesn't mean she's Jewish. Plus if we took dialogue into deep consideration we'd never understand the reason for her famous accent, seeing as her voice as Harleen Quinzelle isn't the same. I'm all about there being diverse characters but Harley wasn't ever stated outwardly that she was Jewish in the series or comics that went along with it. But if she were Jewish I figure she isn't practicing the faith seeing as she's a bad guy. I think that it might be somewhat hinting toward her being ambiguous in her religion seeing as she wanted to celebrate Christmas and is still a bad guy but in Gotham Girls she puns some Christian words, I dunno if that meas something. My thinking is who cares it isn't a big deal what religion she is- SHE'S HARLY QUINN the coolest character ever!
I don't believe that Harley Quinn needs to be categorised as Jewish. She uses a few Yiddish expressions, but this seems to be part of her shtick, in the manner of a Jewish comedian. This contrasts her with supervillains who speak like Shakespearean actors, or Neanderthal thugs, or macho super-banter. Whether she is *actually* Jewish is irrelevant. She's just a crazy mixed up gal.Targetonmyback 03:12, 26 July 2007 (UTC)
I'd also point to the fact in the Batman: Gotham Knights episode Holiday Knights, where Harley teams with Ivy, Harley obsesses over having a Christmas tree. So I'd say that'd be a big against on being Jewish, but it could also depend on the writer and situation of the comic. Harley also could have been born Jewish and converted as well. TwistedArachnid 02:37 8 April 2009 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 63.3.2.1 (talk)
- And in the original comic book that Paul Dini wrote, and then later adapted into the episode, early on, Ivy asks, confused, "Besides, aren't you Jewish?", and Harley replies, "Yeah, but they're so festive!", so I'd say that it's a wash there.
- In any event, as Targetonmyback said, her religion is pretty well irrelevant to the article--certainly not relevant enough to revive a thread from almost two years ago about it. rdfox 76 (talk) 15:45, 8 April 2009 (UTC)

Speculation that she is Joker's wife in 'Dark Knight'
Although she doesn't make an appearance in The Dark Knight, the Joker does mention a "wife" that he used to have who left him because of the scars on his face. One can speculate that this wife of his may in fact be Harley Quinn. This is pure conjecture and probably delete worthy. -82.45.60.218 (talk) 03:55, 31 July 2008 (UTC)
- Not likely. The Joker has so many lies about his past that he was ever married is speculation rather than cannon. Until Batman Confidential, which shows the pre-Joker Jack (no last name) meeting Harley in a bar, the Joker is not supposed to beet Harley until well after his incarceration in Arkham, but the Dark Knight is set when Joker & Batman meet for the first time. (Plus Harley was dating someone when she became obsessed with the Joker).
That's probably an allusion to The Killing Joke, which was used as a source material in The Dark Knight. I'm not sure if there's enough solid evidence to site that though. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.127.223.0 (talk) 17:07, 1 August 2008 (UTC)
The Joker had a different story everytime he told someone about the scars. Even if he was telling the truth that ONE time, who could believe him? He says whatever he wants, whenever he wants. He's a fantastic liar, you really can't believe anything that comes out of his mouth. I say the wife story is as made up as the others.
- Besides, one of his possible origins features him married to someone else before becoming the Joker and that wife was then killed. Also, as the previous editer points out, the Joker lies about his past all the time. In the animated series, he tells his parole officer that the only time he saw his dad happy was at the ice show, but he then tells Harley it was the circus. There is a total of 7 non-free images on this page, and Manual of Style would point to approx. 3. I'm not sure where to recommend trimming, as admittedly I am not familiar with Harley, but most of images seem a bit redundant. Why no section on he relationship with the Joker?
As portrayed in the animated series, this was an explicit abusive relationship--and on a kids' tv show! I think that deserves a mention. There's mention of her character's "quirkyness" but not the fact that she is codependent with a physically and emotionally abusive romantic partner (and that the show frequently shows her realizing it is not a good situation and sometimes trying to leave, but failing)? That's really some hefty and unusual stuff--and the fact that it's not mentioned makes this article come across very unsavory, as though the authors did not think it was anything "out of the ordinary" to be remarked upon that she's utterly devoted to a guy who insults her all the time and regularly beats her up... —Preceding unsigned comment added by 67.85.177.97 (talk) 15:22, 17 March 2010 (UTC)

- Kevin_Smith#Personal_life mentions it with a citation. Probably better to keep the reference there only. Elseworlds
I took the "Fictional Bisexuals" category out. Elseworlds isn't Batman canon, so I think it's more appropriate to leave categories of other (noncanon) versions of characters out. Happy editing. 64.234.0.101 (talk) 04:29, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- I'd also like to add that Wikipedia is not a place for truth. It's about Verifiable and relable sources, not "OMG, it's obvious from issue #887 that she and X were knockin' socks." 64.234.0.101 (talk) 04:35, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- Reasonable move. While just about everyone agrees that she's pollenating Ivy on a regular basis (even Word of God, in the form of Paul Dini being asked flat-out if they did, and getting an affirmative response), they haven't shown it in the comics just yet, and since the Dini bit was a case of someone asking him that on a convention floor, there's no documentation. I'm not sure what WP:COMICS standards on categories for noncanon/alternate-universe versions of characters are, but I'm in favor of it until such time as it's made official in the comics (or the unlikely event that a future Timmverse cartoon shows it). rdfox 76 (talk) 12:28, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
Citation-happy much?
"The story received wide praise[4][citation needed] and won the Eisner and Harvey Awards for Best Single Issue Comic of the Year."
I'm pretty sure Eisner + Harvey = "wide praise".Go4thAndDie (talk) 23:15, 13 December 2010 (UTC)
- Isn't everybody here citation-happy? Citations make me happy. But seriously, wide praise is not the same thing as winning awards. In fact, the whole idea of these kinds of awards is that they are granted by a select, narrow group. Popularity and a bushel full of favorable reviews does not necessarily accompany winning an Eisner or a Harvey. Cheers, GentlemanGhost (talk) 23:47, 13 December 2010 (UTC)

Link to pornographic actress on top of the page
Is it really necessary to have a link to the pornographic actress Bailey Jay on top of the article? While she may have used the nickname Harley Quinn in the past, most of her fans probably already know her current stage name and probably aren't going to come to this page looking for her. I can understand the TMNT April O'Neil page having a link to the pornographic actress but that can't be avoided since that is her actual stage name. Amducker (talk) 10:27, 27 January 2014 (UTC)
Harley's Pregnancy
The Article mentions that either she had a miscarriage or had several tries but got pregnant before Joker died. However The Pregnancy test Box says something else in large bold letters about false positives. Indicating the test found in the main storyline was a false positive and after Joker's death she tried to reassure herself she was still pregnant but all subsequent tests were negative {the accurate reading}. "Losing" the baby and Joker in such a short period of time could also explain what pushed her over the edge to initiate the events of Harley Quinns revenge. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 108.227.246.109 (talk) 09:18, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
Traditional harlequin jester?
The statement that she is clad in the manner of a traditional harlequin jester, doesn’t really make sense, as there is no such tradition. Harlequin is a figure from the Italian Commedia dell'arte, and is a servant figure famed for being nimble (perhaps reflected in her devotion to the Joker, and Harley’s gymnastic ability); later he was incorporated into the Harlequinade, a parody of the original Comedia, where he was paired with the Clown (which again might explain the conection made between Joker and Harley). That she wears a jester’s three pointed cap and bells is atypical of a Harlequin.Jock123 (talk) 09:28, 30 September 2011 (UTC)
A few years later, but yes, you are right. I've edited the statement. Someone could perhaps do a section addressing her costume. ZarhanFastfire (talk) 17:44, 22 February 2015 (UTC)

Edit warring
Despite wiki-text clearly stating not to change the Abilities list on the Infobox, 68.112.240.113 seems insistent on adding to it, despite having been reverted by more than one user. I have brought the issue here to keep the situation from escalating further. Does anyone have any reasons as to why the user's edits should be included? Most editors seem to object to it and the wiki-text is very clear. DarkKnight2149 04:33, 15 November 2015 (UTC)
- I can't say it's a very notable ability. Most superheros/villains are skilled in hand to hand combat, it's a very general ability to have. Official dc website character page says nothing about it and the batman wiki has it listed. I know other wiki pages aren't used as sources but I'm half convinced it should be included but still conflicted. Brocicle (talk) 19:31, 15 November 2015 (UTC)

Harleys abilities
Look, I just want to argue that Harley has way more abilities then what's stated on Wikipedia. First if you look at her carefully you'll see that she has proficient combat skills and that she uses this to her advantage. You could at least state that when she needs to, she's a exceptional hand to hand combatant. Even if you look at her in the Arkham Knight you will see that she has extreme combat skills and none of the Bludhaven Police officers stood a chance. There's even her battle with Batman in Assault on Arkham where she holds her own against Batman for a while and then allows him to hold her down to understand what he is requesting from her. Even in Suicide Squad comics, you can catch Jokers Daughter copying arm breaking moves from the clown princess of crime herself. So please add in her combat skills, its apart of her physical abilities as a comic book character. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.112.240.113 (talk) 03:20, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
While I do not doubt that Harley has been depicted with superior fighting skills over the years, we can not really cover this unless we have a written source actually discussing it. Wikipedia has a policy against original research. Sometimes it backfires and limits article content, but it saves us from extensive POV edits in various articles. Dimadick (talk) 09:24, 21 January 2016 (UTC)
What written source do you need, from DC comics cause I bet I can find something where they talk about that specifically even if its not on the DC comics website itself. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 68.112.240.113 (talk) 02:38, 7 February 2016 (UTC)
- Keep in mind that this article is primarily about the comic character. Nothing from Arkham Knight or Assualt on Arkham goes in the infobox because those are from adaptations. Also, the infobox does mention "skilled gymnist". "Skilled hand to hand combatant" is a very generic ability to have, so I think it goes without saying. DarkKnight2149 03:42, 7 February 2016 (UTC)

In the paragraph below, "Midway City" directs to a city in California when it should redirect to the fictional "Midway city DC Universe" place (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Midway_City_(DC_Comics)).
Paragraph: The character makes her cinematic debut in the 2016 film Suicide Squad, directed by David Ayer. Flashbacks reveal that psychiatrist Dr. Harleen Quinzel fell in love with the psychopathic supervillain Joker, during his time as her patient at Arkham Asylum. Joker eventually manages to convince Dr. Quinzel to free him, and after his men take over the asylum, he gives her electroshock therapy. Quinzel then willingly jumps into the chemicals that created her lover at the Ace Chemicals plant, bleaching her skin and completing her transformation into Harley Quinn. Joker and Harley subsequently become the "King and Queen of Gotham City". Sometime before being apprehended and blackmailed into joining Amanda Waller's government task force composed of captured supervillains, Harley assists Joker in killing the vigilante Batman's partner, Robin.[1] In the present day narrative, Waller deploys the squad on their first mission. They are tasked with rescuing and protecting a high-profile target, later revealed to be Waller herself, from a witch-goddess known as the Enchantress, who has besieged Midway City by transforming its populace into an army of mystical creatures. Meanwhile, Joker attempts to extract Harley from the task force by commandeering a helicopter and forcing one of Waller's A.R.G.U.S. scientists to disarm the nano bomb in her neck, thus allowing her to escape with him. The chopper is shot down, however, and Joker seemingly perishes in the explosion while Harley jumps out onto a nearby rooftop, prompting her to rejoin the task force. After the "Suicide Squad" defeat the Enchantress, they are returned to Belle Reve Prison with ten years alleviated from their sentences and special privileges; Harley receives an espresso machine and Molly' O'Keefe's book Between the Sheets. Joker, who survived the crash, later breaks into the penitentiary with his gang to free Harley from her cell, and the pair reunite as the movie ends. Though the film garnered mixed to negative reviews from critics, Margot Robbie's performance was widely praised and considered a standout.[2][3][4] Paul Dini, the creator of Harley Quinn, said that Robbie "nailed" the character.[5] Lloydambrose (talk) 15:16, 21 November 2016 (UTC)

Accent and Dialect
Is Harley's accent supposed to be any particular accent from the real world? Or is it sort of generic East Coast working class speech pattern in the same sense that Gotham is a generic East Coast city?Mightyfastpig 03:23, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
"I'd say it's even more of a Long Island accent. It's a nasel dialect mostly associated with some Italians and Jews in regions like New York and New Jersey. It's also an accent playing off the gangster molls of the 30's and 40's as Arleen has said. The higher your voice is the dummer you are, the happier your gangster is. if he wanted smart he'd go home to his wife. She actually mentioned Adelaide from the musical, "Guys and Dolls" as an inspiration." -From http://community.livejournal.com/jokerxharley/71314.html —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ludvey (talk • contribs) 21:10, 12 November 2007 (UTC)

- I just saw Born Yesterday, and I agree that the resemblance is uncanny. However, I can’t find anything but speculation that Arleen Sorkin based the voice on Holliday specifically.—Quick and Dirty User Account (talk) 12:10, 23 January 2017 (UTC)

Someone edited the page to reflect information that hasn't been confirmed by any sources including Gotham's creative team.
The edit claims "A forerunner to Harley Quinn was discussed for the television series Gotham.[49] The character's arrival was teased in January 2017 for the finale of season 3, which would then set up a storyline for the fourth season.[50] Bruce Wayne's actor David Mazous confirmed Harley Quinn's addition and arrival in the season 3 finale.[51] In the closing scene of said season 3 finale, "Heavydirtysoul", Bruce Wayne, in his first act as "The Bat", saves a young Harleen Quinzel and her parents from a mugger. Quinzel is portrayed by Meggie Vilcina.[52]"
The edit should remove any reference to the girl being "Harleen Quinzel." The citations links back to IMDb where the actress is only described as "Young Daughter" both in the episode's cast credits and on her profile page [1].
The above detail shouldn't be included until it can be confirmed 100 percent. Jherara (talk) 22:54, 6 June 2017 (UTC)

Infobox image
Is that really the best infobox image that can be found for Harley Quinn? The current image seems like it would be a better infobox image for the Joker per WP:CMOS#BOXIMAGE. If no facing-the-camera "classic" image of just Harley herself can be found, then some editing should be done to obscure the Joker. As it is, the Joker stands out just as much, if not more, as Harley. "Pictures which have more characters or objects than the subject of the article should only be used if the subject is the most prominent object - editing the picture, by cropping, obscuring or painting out the other characters may help to ensure this." Psychologist/psychiatrist
The character has a PhD in psychology, but worked as psychiatrist. Source: Michael Eury (ed.), Back Issue #99, TwoMorrows Publishing, 2017, p. 69, "Before she was Harley Quinn, she was the Joker's psychiatrist. ... Mad Love revealed that Harley Quinn was once Harleen Quinzel, winner of a gymnastics scholarship to Gotham State University. Pursuing a degree by romancing her way through her professors, Quinzel planned to become a pop psychologist until an internship at Arkham Asylum introduced her to the Joker." --Omnipaedista (talk) 08:53, 6 May 2018 (UTC)
Dee Dee
Is there any reference that the Joker is the grandfather of the Dee Dee's? To me it seems like it may have been implied. For example, when Harley says "That old clocks a'tickin." she pats her stomache. Granted her next statement shows a distaste for childbirth, she may have been pregnant at the time. I know this is just speculation at the moment so I won't put anything in the article, but if someone could find a source, I'll be happy to put it in. Emperor001 (talk) 14:02, 12 May 2009 (UTC)
I don't believe it is ever said or suggested that Joker is the Dee Dee's grandfather. Infact a more logical case could be made that Dick Grayson is their biological grandfather after the events that occurred between Harley & Nightwing in Batman & Harley Quinn. The Harley/Ivy question
There's been several incidents of people removing any references to a potential lesbian relationship between Harley and Ivy from both this entry and the Poison Ivy entry over the past couple of days. Look, whether you like it or not, the fact is that there's been several subtle references suggesting the possibility of this relationship in canon. (see: Joker/Mask, the Harley Quinn one-shot, the Harley Quinn monthly series, the Harley and Ivy miniseries by Paul Dini and Bruce Timm) So knock it off.
- Furthermore, it appears that the same anonymous editor keeps replacing any reference to lesbian subtext between the two with references to Batman Adventures #16, where the partnership is ended by Harley. However, (though I doubt the anonymous editor is even reading this page, as they don't seem to be able to defend their edits) that does not mean that the relationship never existed, or even that the partnership will remain dissolved. Removing references to the subtext is censorship, no matter how opposed to it you are. Erisian23 19:09, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- It's practically text at this point. In Gotham Girls #3, there's a series of captions that read, "But love changes everything. That's all she wanted--his love, his approval. Not that she usually got it. Not like from Ivy". This last panel is accompanied by a panel depicting Ivy brushing Harley's hair in Ivy's cell at Arkham (with some guy across the hall gawking). --SHODAN 23:05, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
- Agreed. (I loved that series) It seems that our anonymous censor seems to think that because Harley has sworn to kill Ivy in ONE comic, that it means the relationship is over. They don't seem to take into account that the Joker has sworn to/tried to kill Harley (on more than one occasion!) or that Ivy has broken off the partnership as well. (in the first issue of the "Harley and Ivy" miniseries) And none of these incidents had long-term effects, so why should "Batman Adventures" #16 be any different? Oh yes, because then they can go "OMFG! There is no such thing as Harley/Ivy everevereverever because Harley hates her now and it never happened anyway and you're making it up!" At least that's what I'm getting from those edits... Erisian23 23:16, 22 March 2006 (UTC)
OH SHUT UP! Listen, just face the fact, Harley doesnt have a thing for Ivy! And even if she did, like it was mentioned, their not even friends anymore! It said so in the last comic she was in! So NYA!
- Dude, your totally right. People, listen to this person!
- I know right!
Anonymous edits with a grade school attitude, how utterly common. Read the facts, kid, look at the citations, and leave your opinions and foolishness out of the wiki. This isn't 4chan or some silly message board, this is a place of collective intellect and education. The fact remains that there is evidence of a lesbian relationship between Harley and Ivy. Don't mess with someone's posts, lest someone figure out who you are and decide to edit your boy band entries. Xerial 00:28, 02 November 2006 (PST)
- And also read the comics being cited as references to the possible Harley/Ivy relationship. Which were written by Paul Dini, and somehow I think he has a better handle on the characters than the people who keep vandalising the article do.86.4.211.159 18:52, 7 November 2006 (UTC)
What I find amazing is that with all the lesbian relationships in comics nowadays this still hasn't become explicit. I can understand keeping it out of the DCAU, of course, but . . . nevertheless, it is fairly obvious that there is an implied lesbian relationship and references to cite to prove it. How anyone could oppose including this in the article is beyond me. Universaladdress 05:02, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
It's just another example of truth by consensus. A gx7 05:32, 29 July 2007 (UTC)
- Oh come on! Even in the Animated Series Harley and Ivy shared a bed and walked around scantily clad in each others eyesight and wouldn't stop touching each other. They're lesbian ICONS.
- Wikipedia ia about Verifiability, not truth. Many fans claim there is a relationship between Ivy and Harley, but there is no verifiable sources saying there ever was. 64.234.0.101 (talk) 04:31, 2 September 2010 (UTC)
- It's been a while since anyone mentioned anything here (and if I'm not supposed to add after so long I'll remove this). But just in case someone looks at this section of the page for answers: Harley and Ivy are in a canon relationship now, in multiple comics. Harley is bisexual, while Pamela is a lesbian. I added the relationship to the page a while back (first without sources, whoops, and then with sources. There are more, but 50+ sources for one sentence seems a bit overkill), and it appears that it will remain this way. Sammy2306 (talk) 15:05, 8 March 2019 (UTC)
Change in image
The image for the article shows Joker prominently. I think it may be better to use one that focuses solely on Harley. Especially since she's more and more removed from her origin as Joker's Sidekick.Sammy2306 (talk) 16:59, 5 June 2019 (UTC)

Merger proposal - Merge Harley Quinn DCEU into this article
I propose to merge Harley Quinn (DC Extended Universe) into Harley Quinn, into the "in other media" section. I don't think the DCEU version of the character is so significantly different, that it needs a separate article. Also, origins in the Animated series is repeated in the DCEU article again, and much of the details in that article is synopsis for the Suicide Squad and Harley Quinn movies. Those can also be shortened with a URL to the respective film articles. That should allow the size of the merged article to be reasonable enough. Farhadmohsin (talk) 14:24, 22 July 2021 (UTC)
Booster Gold
Why is Booster Gold not featured under Harley's love interests? Muttemor (talk) 04:57, 29 July 2022 (UTC)
Romantic interests
Harley Quinn has had several love interests, the most notable being Joker and Poison Ivy. Other love interests include Mason Macabre, a character created by Conner and Palmiotti [1] and Booster Gold. Plastic Man was initially intended to be a love interest for Harley Quinn by Kesel, but was not approved by DC.[2]
Poison Ivy
File:Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy.jpg
Poison Ivy was Harley Quinn's 2nd major love interest and best friend, who she often refers to as "Red".[3] Ivy was first introduced as a new friend to Harley by Dini in the 1993 Batman: The Animated Series episode "Harley and Ivy".[4] The episode came from Dini wanting to make Harley a stronger character and write a story where she leaves the Joker; Dini decided to pair her up with Ivy because she was "the strongest contrast to Harley".[4] The two later became close friends within the DC Animated Universe. Dini has stated that he could see a romantic relationship between the two happening the more he worked with the two characters, but the impossibility of properly portraying their relationship in a kids cartoon at the time prevented it from happening.[5]
Prior to the New 52 reboot, Ivy is shown as having teamed up on occasion with Harley with Harley being her best friend and recurring ally. Unlike most villain team-ups, their partnership is based on genuine friendship and mutual respect. Ivy sincerely wants to save Harley from her unhealthy abusive relationship with the Joker. Accordingly, Poison Ivy despises the Joker, and the two exchange vicious banter at every opportunity. In the final storyline of the Gotham City Sirens series, Harley suggests that Ivy may be in love with her, an accusation that stuns her.[6] The following issue has Poison Ivy acknowledge that she may indeed love Harley, but the details of her love are never specified, and the series ended with the New 52 reboot before their relationship could be addressed.[7]
Conner and Palmiotti hinted at a romantic relationship in the New 52 Harley Quinn series,[8][9] and later confirmed that Harley and Ivy are in a non-monogamous relationship.[10][11] 2017's Harley Quinn #25 marked their first canonical kiss.[12]
After a short-lived reunion in 2021, Harley and Ivy suffered a traumatic break-up, in which the pair have mutually gone their seperate ways.[13]
Booster Gold
Harley and Booster Gold have shared a unconventional relationship since they were first paired in Heroes in Crisis; their abstract natures complimenting their natural compatibility.
It shocked many fans when the two became an out-of-left-field couple. Going as far as sharing an intimate moment in 2020 which angered some fans, and was cheered by others.[14]
Booster has been shown to be compassionate and empathetic towards Harley, and unlike Joker or Poison Ivy; who have both been abusive to her on many occasions, he treats her with dignity and respect. His many shortcomings and flaws, as well as, his charm and 'good guy' persona, make him a perfect match for the often misunderstood villainess turned heroine.
As of yet, it is unclear if the two will be showcased in any future romantic scenarios, however, there has been some speculation that Harley could actually be the mother of Booster's son; Rip Hunter, who, to this day, has never been revealed. Muttemor (talk) 02:38, 9 September 2022 (UTC)
