hammer and saw is not a good example of laborer tools, these are examples of carpenter tools. An example of laborer tools is a shovel and construction bar or wheelbarrow and asphalt rake is another.Granite07 03:28, 22 August 2007 (UTC)

Handfuls vs. Powertools vs. Animal or water power tools edit
The handtool description differentiates hand tools from tools powered by as motor. In history, and perhaps in less developed locations, some tools are water or animal powered. These would not be hand tools, but also would not be motor powered.
Should this destination be made here?

- It's a three way distinction: hand tools, power tools (hand held) and powered machinery (floor or bench mounted). Animal and water power has been used for machinery, but not for hand-held power tools. A few rare hand tools were powered by a human pedalling or cranking them, but these were rare. The pedalled part was fixed, there was a flexible drive (usually a rope drive over a number of pulleys) to a hand piece. Andy Dingley (talk) 01:36, 1 May 2018 (UTC)
I agree about the three way distinction. Never-the-less, the first sentence of the handtool article is: "A hand tool is any tool that is powered by hand rather than a motor."
