Wikipedia under target
editIt seems Wikipedia (Ahom related articles) is being targeted by activists of a revivalist group. Chaipau (talk) 01:13, 29 December 2018 (UTC)

Location of Habung
editHabung was located on the confluence of the Brahmaputra and Subansiri river, i.e. in the region of present day Dhakuakhana in Lakhimpur district. All the copperplates also have been discovered around this area only.
Just because government has decided to make a temple in Dhemaji commemorating Sukapha's visit to Habung, it doesn't imply that Habung was located in Dhemaji in anyway. The Ahom organisations demanded the temple to be built there, so the government agreed. It has nothing to do with the historical accuracy of Habung's location. Citing newspaper articles on the building of the temple is plain stupidity and ignorance.Ananya Taye (talk) 21:44, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
- We go by references. Find spot is generally indicative, but not accurate. Vaidyadev's copper plate inscription was found in Benaras, whereas he ruled in Kamrup. Please do not force your point of view here. Chaipau (talk) 22:10, 13 April 2021 (UTC)
- Really amusing. Whose point of view are you talking about here? This is not my " point of view". This is what sources say. Find an alternative source to back your view. Unless there isn't one, you cannot call my edit a POV one. There is just one view here as per evidence. A citation in the form of Wade's historical account clearly mentions Habung to be located at the confluence of Subansiri and Brahmputra. Mind you, Wade visited Assam during the Ahom rule period. He has described each and every district of Assam with clarity. Find a proper historical source first mentioning Habung to be located in Dhemaji, then come and talk about "point of view".
- Moreover, each and every copper plate was found in the Dhakuakhana region itself. Do you really think your flawed logic of being just "indicative" will work for every land grant?? Citing non-historical newspaper article, that too about building a new monument and at the same time ignoring historical data is downright foolish editing. This is the literal definition of WP:POV. To be considered here, your view has to be first be backed by historical sources.Ananya Taye (talk) 00:20, 14 April 2021 (UTC)
- Wade was the medical officer who accompanied Captain Welsh in the expedition that removed the Moamoria rebels from power around 1792. His determination of where Habung was itself a conjecture made more than 200 years ago and requires modern verification. If you have issues with the current determination, as reported in the newspaper, then you have to address this issue in a different forum. This cannot be corrected in Wikipedia. Chaipau (talk) 11:33, 24 April 2021 (UTC)
- Wade is WP:PRIMARY. I invite you to understand the policies around the use of primary source. Chaipau (talk) 23:18, 29 April 2021 (UTC)
