One or two characters

The article describes Groot as "a" fictional character but isn't Groot actually the name of two fictional characters: the father and son? This article already states that baby Groot is Groot's son but then goes on to refer to Groot junior as simply as "Groot" so it's somewhat inconsistent. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Garemoko (talk • contribs) 11:03, 8 November 2019 (UTC)

Groot's speech patterns

Is it worth noting that Groot spoke in full sentences during his appearances in the Star-Lord mini, then for some unknown reason started only saying "I am Groot!" during the Annihilation Conquest main series? ChimpZealot (talk) 07:56, 17 June 2010 (UTC)

Etymology? Dutch/Afrikaans?

Is there any info on whether the name is possibly taken from the Dutch and Afrikaans word "Groot", meaning "Big" or "Great"? Fedor (talk) 10:26, 13 August 2014 (UTC)

On that note, is there really a point to mentioning that it also the word for large in Saterland Frisian? Especially given that it isn't exactly a large or well-known language.Rody1990 (talk) 19:50, 29 August 2014 (UTC)
