Praise System?
editI am not sure that the information about the schools PRAISE System is actually notable or appropriate for wikipedia.
Anyone else got any views on this?

This page is contary to the guidlines set by Wikipedia re: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:User_page - Polemical statements: This article should therefore be deleted. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 89.242.80.140 (talk • contribs)
- I however disagree, the PRAISE system is an important part of the school life and is the biggest and most major change to how the school is ran from 2006. It not only has an influence for students but also teachers and non-teaching staff. Therefore, the PRAISE system with it's pros and cons should be in it's own sub-section or if not that, it should detfintly be in the history of the school. Only1NIG1 00:01, 5 March 2007 (UTC)
- I must also disagree. I am a student, and the code influences heavily on daily school-life; therefore, in my opinion, it is required to be in the article, as it is such an important part of the system. δσώпҹ (talk)(cont) 11:48, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
The information regarding the PRAISE System will continue to be removed as it is polemic. For anyone here who is too dumb to understand that; polemic: of or involving dispute or controversy. This is an encyclopedia, not a forum for slagging off parts of the school!

- You cannot simply skirt controversial issues, provided the information is informative, non-biased and not an attempt to push-forward a point of view then it should be permissable. The information certainly is not irrelevant to the school because it has played a major part in its recent history.
- The correct notation is P.R.A.I.S.E. 86.149.191.99 09:56, 8 June 2007 (UTC)
(Junior) High
editAnyone think that the Gosforth Junior High School (West) page should be integrated into this article, its federated schools page? I personally don't feel that it should be, but I would like others input. Mankind 2k 16:14, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
- Even with the recent merger, they are still two separate schools, and therefore, I'd imagine, be treated as so. Asenine 16:23, 23 October 2007 (UTC)
Notable Alumni
editDoes anyone know of any other Notable Alumni for the School? Mankind 2k 16:16, 4 June 2007 (UTC)
Article improvement
editJust a few suggestions:
- If anyone wants to write a section about how the lower school (years 9-11) operates, in a similar feeling to the post-16 section, please do.
- We could also benefit from some additional history of the school.
- I am also proposing that we create a small table for the senior staff in the article, instead of having the infobox crowded as it currently is (plus it is in the field for religious heads, which is not really appropriate). But if this is implemented we cannot allow it to become a full list of teachers, as it is not appropriate for Wikipedia.
- If anyone feels like adding more photos of the school, they could (just make sure that they are useful to the article).
- And finally, we could do with some references for the recently added material, as it may be deleted from Wikipedia if it is not cited.
Uniform ring colour
editI have reverted the edit where the the uniform ring colour was changed from gold to red. If there has in fact been a change to the uniform colour scheme at the school please feel free to change it back again. --TubularWorld (talk) 12:15, 6 September 2008 (UTC)
web citation replaced with citation needed
editI've removed the following citation as it has been broken for >2 years and I cannot find a replacement. See the diff http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Gosforth_Academy&diff=536352323&oldid=536350639 .
- "Ambassador School, Gosforth High". National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth. {{Dead link|date=April 2008}}
--User:Ceyockey (talk to me) 13:12, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
- One quick Google search found this on Warwick University's site for the reference on National Academy for Gifted and Talented Youth status. Furthermore an Ofsted report identifies the beacon status of the school. TubularWorld (talk) 13:53, 3 February 2013 (UTC)
