Notability edit

OK - I am contesting the speedy deletion of this page.

I must tell you that I am one of the founders of the company, so I am inherently biased. My reasons for contesting the speedy deletion are as follows:

1. Being the first company of its kind in Australia, it satisifies the notability criteria of wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_(organizations_and_companies). There is significant third party coverage of GoGet, if you would like to examine the collected media of GoGet please go here: http://www.goget.com.au/content/category/1/17/88/

1a. In addition, GoGet is the largest company of its kind in Australia and so is notable.

2. If this company is deleted, there are a numebr of other carshare organisations with wikipedia entries who qualify as well. See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_carsharing_operators

3. Indeed, Streetcar (the biggest carshare service in the UK) had its speedy deletion tag removed for notability reasons.

Please contact me nic AT goget.com.au if you require verification of my identity or otherwise.

Thanks for your interest and support of wikipedia.

Endorse — I don't believe that being the first commercial organization to provide a service in a particular location makes that organization notable - especially when numerous other services had existed internationally for at least a decade prior to this organization's launch. It is a discriminatory view that engenders preference.

IMO, the relative size of the organization is also irrelevant as the organization may (how to prove?) be the largest today, but not tomorrow. And the burden of proof then becomes onerous. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Munique (talkcontribs) 01:19, 29 January 2009 (UTC)Reply
