I think it would be helpful to have links to the glue stick pages of the various companies mentioned in the article. Here's what I found...

Disambiguation

edit

The term "glue stick" is also used for the hot-melt adhesive media used in glue guns. There's an article about them at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glue_gun#Glue_sticks. A quick trawl on google shows that this is possible a more prevalent use of the term. We need either a disambiguation page, or something like "This article is about low-melt adhesive sticks, for hot-melt adhesive sticks see blah blah blah". Image

edit

[1] Reverted: The image doesn't really add or show anything, and it's only marginally less blurry than the one already in the article. What we need is a nice, sharp imape of a glue stick, preferably with the cap off. Femto 12:07, 14 August 2006 (UTC) why dose not glue stick to its own sickReply

I have added an image of a glue stick that is a lot sharper. I will take an alternative with the cap off. Bilky asko 19:50, 7 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

My First Glue Stick Image

I have added the version of the glue stick with the cap removed. Bilky asko 20:10, 7 December 2006 (UTC)Reply

This is clearly a shameless advertisement for Pritt. Consider revising to adhere to neutrality standards.

If the image was changed to Brand "X", would it be a shameless advertisement for Brand "X"? Bilky asko (talk) 21:47, 21 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Glue stick examples

edit

Why does Pritt glue have to be the only model for the glue sticks article? I mean I do respect the fact that Pritt is the first stick onto all surfaces glue stick but then I just have this sensation that whosoever wrote this article was trying to advertise the Pritt brand.

I see your point but there are few resources that can be found on other brands. One thing that can be done straight away is having the main image displaying more than one brand, and more than one size of glue stick. I will try to add as much as possible to balance out Pritt. I will add images as soon as possible.Bilky asko (talk) 21:56, 21 January 2008 (UTC)Reply

Style

edit

The whole article seems in need of re-writing. For example it has this non sequitur:
Glue sticks are designed to glue paper and card together, as the glue is not as strong as some liquid based variants.

"Economic value"?

edit

Because of their ease of use, and their economic value... What is this supposed to mean? Cheapness? 86.131.89.40 (talk) 19:07, 2 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Cylindrical Shape

edit

Glue sticks do not have to be cylindrical, I have owned a triangular one. [2] 83.100.168.36 (talk) 12:48, 23 February 2009 (UTC)Reply

Availability

edit

Pritt glue sticks do not seem to be readily available currently in the U.S.A., at least using google searches.

Multi purpose glue stick

edit

The claim of first multi purpose glue stick really needs a source. I seem to remember some sort of UHU glue stick that was suitable for I think at least wood circa 1998-2000 Nil Einne (talk) 08:06, 26 February 2016 (UTC)Reply
