A gloriette is a building in a garden erected on a site that is elevated with respect to its surroundings. The structural execution and shape can vary greatly, often in the form of a pavilion or tempietto, more or less open on the sides. Shown here is the gloriette of Schönbrunn Palace in Vienna, Austria.Photograph: Thomas Wolf

hi, this is an article about a type of building and as well about a specific instance of that type of building. It is interwiki'd with articles about that type of building. That said, I would appreciate of someone removes the coords for the article and separates things accordingly. --Herzi Pinki (talk) 08:14, 19 February 2019 (UTC)Reply

Etymology

edit

from the 12th century French gloire meaning "little room"

This is not quite correct. The meaning is "little glory" because this little room was richly decorated.--2003:CE:BF18:60E7:7D6F:AF55:1A5F:4EF9 (talk) 11:25, 26 December 2019 (UTC)Reply
