count of Luxembourg

How can someone inherit someything that doesn't exist? Yes, there was a castle in what is now the city of Luxembourg since shortly after 963. But Giselbert and his ancestors used a number of titles, but never Luxembourg. It is only Konrad I, Giselbert's son, who started calling himself count of Luxrmbourg. Confusion in regards to titles is to a degree understandable as this dynasty is commonly named 'counts of Luxembourg', but speaking of an inheritance in regards to a non existant title is simply wrong and the source given for this statement is clearly not dealing with the subject in question and unreliable. The fact that Conrad I was the first to use Luxembourg as a title is on the other hand well documented. --Caranorn (talk) 15:06, 29 September 2023 (UTC)Reply
