What does "optothermal" mean?
editThe word is used in this article but isn't in major dictionaries. Something about vision and heat. Equinox (talk) 16:18, 27 September 2015 (UTC)
- Optothermal detection is a technical term, widely adopted is the field of molecular beams. It refers to the detection of absorption of light by molecules (opto part) by the direct transfer of the energy to a bolometer, which is a very sensitive detector of heat (the thermal part).
