Indecisive?
editThe Pro-Gadhafi forces were driven off and security was increased, doesn't that mean that it wasn't indecisive and the rebels won? 69.235.80.253 (talk) 22:11, 25 September 2011 (UTC)
- Loyalists did not intend to capture the city. The whole premise of a raid is to disrupt. By increasing the security presence in Ghadames, the NTC forces have drawn away men that could be used against real targets in Bani Walid or Sirte. That is, if rebels could grow the hell up and coordinate their military like a respectable fighting force should and not bitch and moan about "centralisation". But I digress.... ~~ Lothar von Richthofen (talk) 04:52, 26 September 2011 (UTC)
Battle of Ghadames?
editI'm not suggesting a rename here but rather an article for the battle that caused the fall of Ghadames. The problem is, information about Ghadames is scarse. I have one reference that says clashes started in the city as early as the 20th of February [1] but that's all i can find. If anyone has more information regarding Ghadames that would help build a page i'd be grateful. Thank you. 81.98.167.142 (talk) 09:47, 3 October 2011 (UTC)
- It doesn't seem there was a real "battle" for Ghadames back in the beginning of the war. Some clashes, maybe, but I wouldn't go so far as to call them a full-out battle. ~~ Lothar von Richthofen (talk) 04:49, 12 October 2011 (UTC)
