Criticism?

Should a Criticism section be added? As Nalvage and Anonymous (below) have pointed out, there are parts of this article that shouldn't be there, but I do not think they should all go. So, I suggest making a Criticism(s?) section, and adding the most noteworthy... issues, there. --Gero 04:58, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

The problem is in deciding which, if any, criticisms are noteworthy. People will have a whole host of different subjective opinions about this episode and this season, and there's a danger of getting into "Some/Many fans think..." which is against Wikipedia's policy on unsourced Weasel Words. Which fans have these critical opinions? When were they expressed? What exactly did they say? Why is their opinion noteworthy? How many of them are there? What percentage of the viewership? Without reliable sources you fall into the trap of, "Well, I've seen a lot of criticism online..." which, to me, seems too vague for an encyclopaedia. My feeling is that Wikipedia should avoid talking about a show's quality (either good or bad) unless there's something verifiable that can be pointed to, like ratings, or awards, or quotes from those working on the show etc.--Nalvage 13:20, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Well, I know I've seen some articles around (one in a magazine, a couple online) that talk about and criticize the many deus ex machina used in the final episodes, and how some of the characters would be simply knocked out if they would have gotten in the way of a scene. (Willow, with her magic recently of course, but it happened to Giles most of all. The writers even included him saying, 'At least I wasn't knocked out', once.) I'll try and find some links. And I know a quote can be found somewhere with Sarah Michelle Gellar talking about how Buffy felt like a different person the last two seasons, and was unhappy about it. --Gero 22:43, 30 July 2006 (UTC)

Giles' Absence

Does anyone know why Giles wasn't in this episode? Was Anthony Stewart Head busy with something else, or is Giles' absence an explanation for the new Potentials that show up later? Like he was out gathering them. --Gero 16:05, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

I think story-wise during this time Giles is travelling and collecting potentials. In real life I think he was only a recurring guest star in series 7, rather than a regular, because he needed more time with his family who lived in england. -- Paxomen 17:49, 19 February 2006 (UTC)

Willow Drains Power

"When Willow needs energy, she takes it from Kennedy and Anya. However, Anya is human again, and so it would seem more likely that Xander would be the strongest person there after Kennedy."

I dont agree with this, because even as a human, Anya is still a more than capable magic user.

And to be honest, this entire article is has a very bitter tone and needs to be made a bit more neutral.

-I have to second that, but I think it would be hard finding someone with a neutral stance that could rewrite this well. That's goes for most of the last season as well it seems. --Gero 15:59, 16 February 2006 (UTC)

Jawohl and Nazi reference

The German version put "Zu Befehl" changing "Jawohl" from the original. It's true that "Zu Befehl" has no Nazi-connotation (or almost any) but the alternative "Jawohl!" wouldn't, either, since it's still used without any reference to Nazi ideology (mostly in tongue-in-cheek use). Still, blind obedience is transported by "Jawohl!", which could be roughly translated as "How high?". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 84.177.121.18 (talk) 21:23, 27 September 2008 (UTC)

I agree with on minor adjustment: "Jawohl!" in military jargon essentially means just "Yes Sir!" as is "Zu Befehl!" the literal translation of which "As ordered." "Jawohl" is kind of archaic (being of middle high german origin) and was thus used well before the 20th Century and is still in use today as a stronger form of agreement or to stress a point, not necessarily in a military context. Maybe that's the reason the translators changed it to "Zu Befehl!" Dekar1241 (talk) 16:15, 16 November 2008 (UTC)

Shadow Figures

I'm wondering if anyone has any information on those shadow figures (from the emergancy bag). Are these things real, as in was it invented for the show or is it something that really would be been used in Africa/anywhere? Drewder (talk) 03:12, 18 June 2012 (UTC)
