Gerald W. Smith was awarded the Wellington Award in 1986. The award was presented by the I. Gerald W. Smith is an important person in the engineering community I am sure there is more information about his accomplishments and his works that need to be presented GeorgeAlbert02833350 (talk) 03:49, 15 February 2018 (UTC) [1]Reply

  • The second external link does not work. I get the message "Oops! That page can’t be found." when I click on it.
  • Consider structuring the article more. It seems like a grouping of fun facts. Breaking the article into headings would make it easier to digest.
  • Consider using more credible references than his funeral page and the Sioux City Journal. There are other sources that detail his life and activities such as the Iowa State University website.

It would be great if there were subheadings for the article, for instance, Personal Life, Professional Career, Contributions, Death
The structure is not well organized. For example, the childhood is in the end. Generally the article should start with the birth and childhood details (if mentioned) and then the description of the professional career, contributions, etc. and finally with the death detail.

I would recommend this citation for the second reference. “Gerald W. Smith.” Sioux City Journal, 8 Aug. 2017, siouxcityjournal.com/news/local/obituaries/gerald-w-smith/article_9cf4e8f3-14d2-58b8-8c00-d341bc48500d.html. Bthapacr7 (talk) 19:42, 1 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

1. The article's structure is all over the place, with no consistency in the article's structure

2. Many of the links in the article do not work, and when the faulty link is clicked on, no content is displayed on the next page

3.The positive thing about the structure that was consistent in the article, was the order of his accomplishments were given in order of a consistent timeline of completion.Mr.Brannon (talk) 01:35, 28 February 2018 (UTC)Reply
