Vanity? edit

Is this a vanity page? has anybody heard of this guy? --Storkk 12:14, 31 August 2006 (UTC)Reply

I'm of increasing opinion that this is a vanity page. No wikipedia article links here, except for the disambiguation pages. Other links are all user pages. If nobody responds, with some defense, I'll nominate it for deletion. --Storkk 00:35, 1 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Well, I'll just add the tag instead. --Storkk 00:41, 1 September 2006 (UTC)Reply
Not sure what a vanity page is but thanks for the tag. And by the way how does anyone learn about anything anyway - does he need to be on TV or in tabloid newspaper. This sort of stuff puts me off contributing - Have a nice day! --Jppigott 14:27, 16 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Holding 4 chairs in different academicv fields and having a number of publications sounds notable to me. This review at amazon.com [1] notes his having held chairs in 4 fields. I think this exceeds vanity. RJFJR (talk) 01:02, 29 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
No, it's not a vanity page. It would be pretty hard to write a vanity page after you died, don't you think? Hesperian 04:32, 29 December 2007 (UTC)Reply
Thank you J Pigott for launching this article. I am confident that George Seddon's contribution to the Australians' understanding of their environmental and cultural identity will increasingly be appreciated.WoonganILB (talk) 04:59, 21 July 2016 (UTC)Reply

Bibliography edit

I have commenced a tidy-up of the Bibliography section using cite templates. Capitalization and punctuation follow standard cataloguing rules in AACR2 and RDA, as much as Wikipedia templates allow it. ISBNs and other persistent identifiers, where available, are commented out, but still available for reference. This is a work in progress; feel free to continue.
