Talk:Galut

Latest comment: 13 years ago by Lazer Stein in topic Link at bottom

Someone posted a merge tag suggesting that this article be merged with Diaspora. I oppose this as the term Galut has other meanings in Hebrew, and Diaspora is only one of the meanings. If that member wishes to add to the article that Galut means diaspora as well, he is welcome to do so (and I find it odd that he didn't) but it clearly means other things as well, esp. exile which is a significantly different concept from diaspora, and thus warrants an article on its own. There was a link at the bottom of the article, which can now be found here. It is from a Messianic Jewish website, i.e. one that believes in the redemptive qualities of Jesus, and is not, I believe, a source for "mainstream" Judaism. --Lazer Stein (talk) 01:00, 24 May 2011 (UTC)Reply
