Is there any proof of this? Apparently Frank wants Gerard to take a tour of the Universe with him one day. I'm going to remove the tag if it's completely unfounded. 71.59.189.46 (talk) —Preceding undated comment added 16:55, 10 June 2009 (UTC).

As I recall it was only ever in one magazine article and that was a rather dubious one from a South American magazine in Spanish. Conveniently, no-one who mentions it to me (online) has ever read the article in question, much less be able to link to it. Apocalypsecabaret (talk) 22:33, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

Citations? We don't need no stinking citations...

I see that the only reference on here is imnotokay.net, which is only a fans site and not a primary source of information. I noticed that imnotokay.net is used as a reference in all the MCR articles, in spite of the fact that it's all speculation and gossip and is also really badly written. What's up with that?

I think in this case imnotok.net will be fine- it's probably the most trusted fan site out there, and also the most cited. Of course, it would be much better to have additional sources backing it up.
Although it's not written formally, the information follows what the band members themselves have said, so I regard it as reliable. But yes- we do need something else. CattleGirl talk | sign! 07:48, 8 June 2007 (UTC)

Incorrect grammar, and other issues

I've noticed his last name is spelt 'lero', with a regular 'l'... AFAIK, the 'l' should be capitalised, as it's a name. I also might add, the Trivia section was recently removed from the Gerard Way article. I feel that a trivia section on a factual biography of a living person is unnecessary. Unconscious 11:55, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

My apologies about the Iero confusion. I'm not used to this found, and I thought it was a lower-cased 'L', it was an honest mistake. Unconscious 17:03, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

Parents

I think this point, currently under Trivia, should be included at the beginning somewhere, and also:

"Frank's parents' names are Anthony (Cheech) and Linda. Linda was featured in the song "Mama" off the band's third studio album, The Black Parade."

^^Is there a source for this? isn't Lisa Minelli the female vocals towards the end of 'Mama'?? :S

sorry but no franks mom did not do the vocals for mama on the album black parade, Liza Minnelli was in fact the female vocals in the song.

According to imnotokay.net Frank grew up with his mum linda who divorced his dad who was a big influence on him also that he has been playin in bands since he was 11 years old he also dropped out of college to join MCR that it is said on inotokay.net and life on the murder scence (i cant spell) i not a signed user because even tho i come here alot i dont think i bein doin alot of editin --81.154.191.82 20:15, 27 July 2007 (UTC)

Yes, Liza Minelli was in fact the female vocals in the song "Mama" off of The Black Parade. I recently watched an interview with Gerard Way on FUSE and he talked about that one subject for like 5 minutes of the half hour!

Frank's parents' names are Frank Anthony Iero (stated by Frank on the episode of LA Ink, he featured in. Frank himself has the same name but he is the Junior and his father is the Senior. His grandfather's name is also Frank but he has a different middle name that I can't remember. 'Cheech' is a name Frank Iero Snr. performed under as a musician.) and Linda Iero (stated in the liner notes of The Black Parade album). They're probably not mentioned in the article because it's not an important point. Copaface182 (talk) 15:15, 16 July 2011 (UTC)

Marriage

Just a heads up to say that the Bouncing Souls posted a genuine Myspace bulletin saying they played at Frank and Jamia's wedding (on 9th March I think), and although there won't be any proper sources for a while, I'd expect at least a few edits about this.

Text of bulletin:

Hey Everybody! Me, Pete and Bryan are at Bryan's place in Ny today workin on some new tunes and learning a Johnny Cash song for a compilation. We have some great new ideas that are gonna turn into some sweet tunes.

Yesterday we all enjoyed celebrating the wedding day of our good friend Frank from My Chemical Romance to his beautiful wife Jamia. It was a fine family gathering which ended up in us singing a couple of Frank's fav Souls songs. Matt Skiba from Alkaline Trio jumped up to sing along to an acoustic version of Night On Earth. He also did 3 of his songs on acoustic. Acoustic Skiba = goosebumps.

Congratulations to Frank to Jamia and much Love to you both.

Have a Good Day All, The Souls

thefunkygibsonT¤C 00:38, 11 March 2008 (UTC)

TBH I don't think any of the bulletin belongs on here, certainly the verification of Franks wedding deserves a place in the article, but ultimately the bulletin itself is alot of excess. For example, I don't even have a clue who the Bouncing Souls are.
So I'm gonna take it out for the time being, if you disagree please say!
Kokiri kid (talk) 06:07, 20 March 2008 (UTC)
I'm not totally sure what you mean there - I didn't add it to the article, I was just posting that and the bulletin on the talk page so that anyone looking to remove any edits about the wedding (as has been done in the past because of vandalism, I think) would be able to see that there was actually some proof of it, even if not a wiki Reliable Source. I wasn't suggesting it should be added at all.
Oooooh wait I just checked the History and I see why you're posting... my bad! I agree that it shouldn't be there but we definitely need to get it sourced asap. (The Bouncing Souls are an ok band, not my kind of thing, but they're one of Frank's all time fave bands it seems and he goes to their gigs and has played with them a few times. ^_^) thefunkygibsonT¤C 22:39, 21 March 2008 (UTC)

Leathermouth article?

I might not be in the best place to post this question, but what happened to the Leathermouth article? I know for a fact it was up last night, and now its a redlink. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cryotoguy (talkcontribs) 05:00, 9 August 2008 (UTC)

It was deleted. Grungedude22 (talk) 19:16, 4 September 2008 (UTC)

Name pronunciation

I'm deleting the bit about how his name is pronounced, it gives false information. It says that he says it in the LA Ink interview he did, but on closer listening to it, he says that he is having the Italian for "my hero" tattooed on his hand. Here Grungedude22 (talk) 11:31, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Should be deleted

As it has apparently been decided that other members of the band do not warrant individual wikipedia pages, this one should be deleted also. 74.244.60.110 (talk) 19:16, 5 October 2008 (UTC)Jamie

He qualifies as notable for being part of at least one other notable band. --neon white talk 19:25, 5 October 2008 (UTC)
No he isn't. His other band hasn't even had their first album out yet. The only reason they're "notable" is because of their relationship to MCR.
Pencey Prep have released 2 albums and Give Up the Ghost quite a few. --neon white talk 15:03, 2 December 2008 (UTC)
Also, there is a lot unfolding about Leathermouth now, which cements in the fact that he's notable. Grungedude22 (talk) 16:51, 3 December 2008 (UTC)

Frank has his own page because he has notable projects outside of the band (Leathermouth, Skeleton Crew etc.) so there is more to write about him than simply "he plays an instrument in this band", the other members (not including Gerard Way who also has other notable projects like The Umbrella Academy and various collaborations) whose only career knowledgable to the public is the band, don't get their own Wikipedia pages. Merger proposal

I dont think this company owned Frank Iero has much notability other than the fact he owns it. How about merging it here? --neon white talk 15:07, 2 December 2008 (UTC)

Frank is not short for Franklin

Frank's name is not Franklin, it has never been printed as Franklin in any reputable source. If you want to put it back in give me a link to a reputable source, and I don't mean your fanfiction. Magazine article or interviews only plz. The name Frank is a shortening but it is usually of Francis, not Franklin. In any case, nowadays people put the name Frank on birth certificates as a name in its own right, much as they do with Jack (which is actually short for John.)Apocalypsecabaret (talk) 22:41, 29 August 2009 (UTC)

Discography

As of 6/4/2012 Miles Iero was born from Frank Iero and his wife Jamia, making him their third child. As of 5/31/2013 Frank has been named best dad ever by his daughter, Lilly Iero [1] [2] It hasn't been placed in the article so if someone could do that?

And also, more about Frank's family. He got his musical inspiration from both his father (Frank Anthony Iero) and his grandfather (Frank Joseph Iero) as they were both drummers. Even going to extents of tattooing his grandfather on his arm, by famous Kat Von D, with 'My Family, My Hero' written in Italian above it. [3]

Other Work

The thing about Skeleton Crew should be in a new section, not too sure what it should be called, but maybe a little more detail on it as well, with the link to the website: [4] This is because Frank does other things as well as his music career, I know he's stopped doing the Skeleton Crew thing but he also does tattooing: [5] having also tattooed others on tours and such. Edit request on 23 January 2013

Frank started a new website for his own personal journal-blog. It went live on Jan. 13, 2013. This could be added to personal, he also uploaded a link to the song he covered on his soundcloud page to this website. This blog seems to be somewhat important and personal to him. Any sort of acknowledgement of its existence would suffice. Please. Abigaildawning (talk) 20:32, 23 January 2013 (UTC)[6]

The information on this page has aged. Frank isn't the guitarist/background vocalist of My Chemical Romance anymore, because My Chemical Romance broke on March the 22th 2013, and he has a new band called Death Spells which I still don't see on the page. -Miles (talk) 07:35, 1 June 2013 (UTC)

Done Thanks for pointing it out. It was at one point correct, but there had been some silly vandalism, including changing the word "was" to "is". Death Spells are mentioned, and I think other details will be added in due course. Begoontalk 16:00, 1 June 2013 (UTC)
