Italian edit

Please look for a source saying he is Italian so we can actually add it to the article. I haven't been able to find something that can actually count as proof on here. Michael 01:50, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply

Hmm... Well, I am pretty sure that Frank Capra's wife, born Lucille Reyburn, wasn't Italian/Sicilian. This guy - Francis ryhjutyhjtyjdj/4 Italian. That leaves us with Francis Capra's mother. And I haven't been able to find any info on her. If she's not ITalian, then Francis Capra is just 1/8th. Mad Jack 01:53, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Most things cite him as Italian, though, and if you look at him, you can tell he is definitely not 3/4 W.A.S.P., though wen can't go off that. Don't you know how to use ancestry.com? Is there anything you can get on there about him? Michael 02:39, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
What cites him as Italian? Are there any reliable sources? Or just message boards asssuming on his last name? ANcestry.com is where I got his grandmother's last name. Francis Capra himself was born in New York and Ancestry doesn't have New York records for whatever reason. He could be half-anything on his mother's side to explain his "looks" Mad Jack 02:52, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
No, random sites cite him as Italian (the sites we cannot rely upon). Michael 02:55, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
It appears Mr. Capra may be under the "Christina Ricci curse". You know, when everyone thinks you're Italian because of your last name, but the Italian is way, way, back Mad Jack 02:58, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Perhaps, but it would be nice to have a definitive answer one way or the other. Michael 03:38, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Clearly. I wish there was some kind of family-tree site or something or an in-depth book bio on every actor out there. Mad Jack 05:05, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Clearly, we dont have to know ever detail about every actor! But if you have time to kill, write a biographical encyclopedia of every actor out there. Marc S. 206.192.35.125 (talk) 19:39, 1 July 2013 (UTC)Reply
Yes, that would make our lives much simpler. Michael 06:06, 30 June 2006 (UTC)Reply
Did you check one of the ancestry sites? Michael 22:02, 13 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
None have anything more then what I've already given you. Dad was 1/4 ITalian and 3/4 WASP. Mother's side - uknown. Someone on the IMDB boards said he was Italian and Dominican. Maybe his mother is Domincan. Mad Jack 08:26, 22 August 2006 (UTC)Reply
His father was Dominican. His mother is Italian. He's not related to the Frank Capra who was a director.User: Aeaean Circe

Really? So the shaky sources made another mistake, I guess. Do you have some sort of source we can site for this info? I.e. the no relation, ITalian/Dominican stuff. It would be helpful in putting into the article and clearing this up (provided we have a source) Mad Jack 04:44, 7 September 2006 (UTC)Reply

Still nothing? The way I see it, we need a source as to whether "Capra" is his mother's or father's name (IMDB claims it's his mother's, which would allow his father to be Dominican, but IMDB doesn't substantiate its data, and things people say in forums aren't verifiable sources). We also need a source that defends one way or another whether he is or isn't related to the California-based Capra "dynasty". I personally think that it is unlikely; why would he grow up in difficult circumstances in NY and have to be discovered if he is related to Frank, Frank Jr., and Frank III? IMDB data lists him as Frank's great-grandson and Frank Jr.'s grandson, but neither Frank III's or Francis' IMDB data specify any such relationship. In short, we can't assume that he is or isn't related without a verifiable source. Aside from this Capra family Hollywood footnote, we don't know anything about his heritage other than that "Capra" is an Italian surname. Guessing based on physical appearance is meaningless. I am Italian myself, yet most people assume "because of the way you look" that I am German and/or a Jew. 71.204.204.249 (talk) 15:16, 21 December 2007 (UTC)Reply

One solution, which I've implemented, is to just say he's Italian and Dominican followed by "citation needed." The other would be to leave out all mention of his ancestry until a source becomes available. 88.84.137.165 (talk) 10:20, 27 July 2008 (UTC)Reply

Fair use rationale for Image:EliNavarro1.jpg edit

Image:EliNavarro1.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

New pic edit

I added a new pic. I know his face is a bit covered, but it is clearer than the last one. * ₩іκіRocкs/Love$ounds talκ 13:17, 23 February 2008 (UTC)Reply

This guy is NOT Frank Capras Great Grandson..according to his imdb biography he is not related to frank capra at all.. also, frank capra's grandson (frank capra the 3rd) was an assistant director on many films.. this article states that francis capra barely knew his dad as he was incarcerated most of his life.. he cant be the son of frank capra the 3rd who worked on many films, and the son of a felon.. therefore it is reasonable to assume they are not related.. ````Sharon Howarth —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.138.129.171 (talk) 19:45, 29 October 2009 (UTC)Reply

'The Good Must Suffer' Tattoo edit

The page said 'his arm tattoos include [...] the Christian phrase "The Good Must Suffer."' I'm not sure in what sense this is a "Christian phrase." It's not Biblical, nor is it a famous quote as far as I can find out. It may have some personal spiritual meaning for Capra, but unless someone can cite a source, I've altered it to just 'the phrase "The Good Must Suffer."'
