Gang Violence

edit

@Skrapzisback:

Thanks for your recent edits to the Forest Fields article. I have removed the gang violence section you added (see below). I am not entirely opposed to adding some information about crime in the area. However, this sort of information must be cited and notable. Maybe there is some information from the police regard statistics? Also, the article should have undue weight on one topic. Having a third of the article listing every gang related incident, has this problem in my opinion. Jonpatterns (talk) 16:41, 21 March 2014 (UTC)Reply

Forest Fields is also known for gang violence with gangs of teenage boys and men from ages of 14 - 25 est. there are gangs within and around forest fields like the so called wiverton road gang which has been around since 2005/6 est. Before this, the gang used to be on sturton park. now they are always moving because of police harassment. you will find them outside shops on street corners, parks, dead end roads and stoops.
what do they do? these gang members sell drugs such as weed, cocaine and ecstacy. older members of these gangs sell crack, heroin and md. forest fields is by far the one of the easiest places to buy drugs from. Nottinghamshire police statistics prove that 3 in 5 boys from 15 - 18 carry illegal substances and 2 in 5 sell it.
Police say late October 2013 teenagers from 14 - 18 threw fireworks at a police van and officers near hedley villa park a local spot for 2012/13. the van turned up because of 7 reports of firework that day. throughout october - november 2013 there was 137 reports from 109 people. which was the worst case of fireworks since 2004. in 2004 these boys were over 17. Firework are thrown at officers, pedestrians cars and even at each other.

Extent of Forest Fields.

Should the reference to "Nottingham Road" read Sherwood Rise or Mansfield Road? I'm not sure there is a Nottingham Road in this part of the City and I cant see it on the map.I am a former resident of Burford Road and Woodborough Road and a former chorister of St Andrew's Church.
