Is it True That the HSC Engine was Derived from the 3.3 Inline Six?

edit

I would like to know whether or not the HSC fours were in any way related to the old 3.3L "Thrift-Power" or "Falcon" inline six. Can anyone conjure any verifiable sources to confirm or debunk this? WikiPro1981X (talk) 18:13, 15 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

The only thing I can tell off the top of my head is that they have the same bore, 93.47 mm (3.680 in). So it seems likely at least.  Mr.choppers | ✎  01:40, 28 March 2014 (UTC)Reply
It is also the fact that both the HSC and the 3.3L had overhead valves (which distinguishes the HSC 2.3L from the Lima 2.3L which was SOHC) and, on the early HSC engines, the single-barrel carburetor. WikiPro1981X (talk) 02:41, 12 December 2015 (UTC)Reply

"Disputed"?

edit

So what is it that is "disputed" on this page? I see someone mentioning the 3.3L six, but the main page says it was created from the Ford Six. Granted it says the "200ci" and here it says "3.3L", but as far as I know they are the same engine family. I was brought to this page from the Ford Inline Six engine article, where it says "the 2.3 HSC was created by taking two of the cylinder cores out of the molds of the Falcon Six engine". So again, what is the disputed part?
