Better page title edit

2011 Pacific Games men's football tournament? Matches the standards of year first which seems to be more common lately Jlsa (talk) 23:31, 14 June 2011 (UTC)Reply

I thought this kind of competition would follow along the same lines as something like the Olympics which have a similar title. Your thoughts? --Spartan008 (talk) 02:10, 15 June 2011 (UTC)Reply
That's obviously the alternative presentation. Just seems a bit odd when all the other WC quals list with date first (no doubt it would probably seem odd if all the Pacific Games stuff was X at the 2011 Pacific Games - not that I have any idea if such page exist - but I am obviously coming at the page from a 2014 viewpoint). Points table edit

Looking at the "see the Tabs" option you can access from the match pages (such as here) suggests the tournament is using 4 points for a win, 1 for a loss (and presumably 2 for a draw). However, the football manual is the "pre-the-whole-no-WC-qualifier-thing" happening, so it is a bit out of date.

Anyone have any insights into what the tables should say? Jlsa (talk) 00:35, 30 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

The tables for this tournament should have 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, and 0 for a loss. The current table with games played to August 30, 2011 can be viewed on the Oceania Football Confederation website with this format. I would take the OFC source to be definitive. It is unclear what the source is that gives the alternate point format and should be ignored since there is a much more reliable source available. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.65.58.19 (talk) 18:17, 30 August 2011 (UTC)Reply

You mean a source from an external organisation who put it in their automated software that they can't edit the settings on? Why would the official website of the tournament not be definitive and someone else's be so?Jlsa (talk) 22:49, 30 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
