Major cult center
Who added this, and why
- It was done here back in 2017 when the Deity infobox was added. I've changed it to "abode", which is not quite right, but is better than "cult centre" as Pastafarianism is not identified as a cult by the article. Chaheel Riens (talk) 06:28, 18 September 2020 (UTC)
- I would have thought that the "Major cult center" would be the Chef Boyardee factories, but I am just throwing that against a wall, to see what sticks theologically. Cullen328 Let's discuss it 06:38, 18 September 2020 (UTC)

- This occurred in 2017. What was the result? If the outcome was not reported, it is probably too minor an event for inclusion. BiologicalMe (talk) 17:03, 30 September 2020 (UTC)

Holidays
The holidays section goes over Pastover and Ramendan in the first paragraph but then covers it again in the second paragraph? This feels redundant.

Add Israel to the list of states and countries where licenses have been accepted or denied. The person whose license was accepted is Michael Afanasyev, and the year it was issued was 2016. Verifiable at the following [1] Ironyisstrongwiththisone (talk) 09:28, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

Please change the List of identity photo applications with headgear to include the UK. SOURCE: https://www.spaghettimonster.org/2015/10/uk-license-headgear/ Fantanoo (talk) 18:30, 11 November 2020 (UTC)
- Not done Thank you, but Wikipedia relies on third-party reliable sources. The source you provided is more akin to a blog about an email message with no evidence of a fact-checking mechanism. On a quick, hardly exhaustive search I failed to find an appropriate source from a reputable outlet known for fact-checking. If you can find one, please provide it. Add Portugal to the list of Headgear in identity photos. The request to take the photo with headgear for the national identity card (cartão de cidadão) was rejected. News story from a reputable source: https://www.jn.pt/nacional/portugues-impedido-de-usar-escorredor-de-massa-na-foto-do-cartao-de-cidadao-13060973.html
Official document from IRN (Portuguese Institute of Registration and Notary Affairs): https://irn.justica.gov.pt/Portals/33/Doutrina/Pareceres%20do%20Conselho%20Consultivo/Registo%20%20Civil-Balc%C3%A3o%20das%20Heran%C3%A7as%20e%20Div%C3%B3rcio%20com%20Partilha/2020/19_CC_2020.pdf?ver=2020-11-20-114725-593 Dbarciela (talk) 19:54, 21 November 2020 (UTC)
- Question: Thanks Dbarciela. I'm happy to add this, but I can't read Portuguese. So could you let us know the name of the person making the request, and the date? Optionally, if you could provide an English translation of the titles of both sources, that would be helpful. Adrian J. Hunter(talk•contribs) 13:05, 7 December 2020 (UTC)
Edit Request, "social movement" should be "religion"
Verifiable sources note it as a religion. https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/may/18/pasta-strainers-and-pirates-how-the-church-of-the-flying-spaghetti-monster-was-born https://apnews.com/article/06c11b92f92d427a8a38b5f1ab583080 https://www.chron.com/politics/article/Homeowners-Religious-Freedom-Act-texas-bill-16047281.php https://www.newsweek.com/i-pastafari-church-flying-spaghetti-monster-interview-1515169 https://www.thedailybeast.com/these-wonderfully-weird-people-worship-a-flying-spaghetti-monster https://www.wired.com/2007/11/flying-spaghetti-monster/ 2601:243:1381:A0:D15F:65D4:CFA9:6124 (talk) 16:29, 23 April 2021 (UTC)
Redundancy
"... opposes the teaching of intelligent design and creationism in public schools."
"Intelligent Design" is Creationism. Dover Area Schoolboard --Desertphile (talk) 14:58, 18 October 2021 (UTC)
- This is more of an ambiguity than a redundancy. The source you provided includes the quote that ID "cannot uncouple itself from its creationist, and thus religious, antecedents". Creationism can mean the set of creationist doctrines (including ID) or any specific one. The relevant antecedent was "Scientific Creationism". In the case of the FSM, the original letter was about the ID/evolution equal-time proposal in Kansas, well after equal time for Creation Science was struck down by Edwards v. Aguillard. For that reason, I think it is better struck than clarified. BiologicalMe (talk) 16:17, 18 October 2021 (UTC)

Wanted to add a link in the popular culture section. FSM has a line in the Futurama episode "A Clockwork Origin" http://futurama.theinfosphere.org/Flying_Spaghetti_Monster_(species) — Preceding unsigned comment added by 45.149.66.4 (talk) 16:44, 17 December 2021 (UTC)
- Not done Cultural relevance is not established by a brief appearance. If there is third-party published source that discusses impact (not a mere mention), then it can be introduced as more than mere WP:TRIVIA. I failed to find such a source. "Strat observations" from AV Club don't quite reach that threshold in my interpretation of policy. Look at the sourcing for other entries for comparison. Edit request to add drivers license user to list
I, Cody Kelderman, received an Iowa, USA driver's license in February with a pasta colander on my head and would like to add it so others can know it is possible in Iowa. Cosmogeddon (talk) 19:54, 17 February 2022 (UTC)

Add Ontario and Canada to the list of Headgear in identity photos. The request to take the photo with headgear for the provincial Drivers license was accepted. Source is a 4chan post no news articles, here is the proof. Not sure of the name of the Pastafarian, https://ibb.co/F7p2hmN
- Not done: 4chan posts are not RS. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 17:52, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
- How would someone get this added? 2600:16FB:8ABD:13A0:220:91FF:FEC0:FFEE (talk) 05:10, 30 March 2022 (UTC)
How would one add this as it's a valid Driver's license and one of the first in Canada.
I have found the person, and seen the ID card in person, how can a primary source be added. The card itself.
- If there is no secondary sourcing then it isn't noteworthy or WP:DUE. ScottishFinnishRadish (talk) 23:12, 26 May 2022 (UTC)
Include The New Testament
Can we include the "New Testament of The Flying Spaghetti Monster; Dinner 2.0" in the Books section?
The Unitarian Church of Pasta and The FSM Revival Church of Ziti, use it as The New Testament to accompany The Gospel of The Flying Spaghetti Monster Bible. 2600:1011:B11A:FDFB:8794:84A:F0F5:F3D4 (talk) 19:33, 31 May 2022 (UTC)

Existence of the Story in New York City During the Sixties
I remember being told about the Flying Spaghetti Monster by a professional philosopher who lived in my building, which was on Stanton Street in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. It was in the late Sixties and, most relevantly, he got a religious diploma (admittedly non-Pastafarian) by mail, from somewhere in the Southwest, for his cat. I was informed that religious services had been performed in the presence of the reverend cat. Perhaps the cat herself/himself actually performed the services, but I don’t remember that clearly anymore, and perhaps the diploma cost $5, when that amount could get you an entire box of bubble gum.--DaveG 135.180.48.180 (talk) 10:51, 3 December 2022 (UTC)
- I'm fairly sure "Pastafarian" isn't as old as the 60s. I'm also sure it shares many attributes with religions that were around in the 60s, and those found in Arizona, and those that would consecrate a cat.ProofCreature (talk) 11:26, 20 February 2023 (UTC)
