Guild of Copy Editors cleanup

I am handling the copy edit for this article. As I read through the article, I will make minor changes to it directly. I will list lots of other suggestions here on the "Talk" page. Feel free to comment on any suggestion or to ignore any suggestion.

You can also (slowly and carefully) make changes to the article based upon a suggestion while I am still copy editing (approximately 2-3 days to complete).

Lead section

The lead section says "Tondo"; the Infobox says "Gagalangin Tondo". I like the Infobox.

• The graphics in the Infobox are beautiful

• I would probably write the address as follows:

Reasons:

1. It's consistent with the lead section;
2. Is "Manila" three times in the address really necessary?

• While researching the school's geocoordinate data, I visited the school's Facebook page. Please note that the pin on the map is in the wrong location.

• The code in the "colors" parameter could be simplfied, as recommended in the documentation for the "Infobox school" template, by writing:

|colors = Gold and Maroon {{color box|#ffdf2f}} {{color box|#ac0a0a}}

• At the bottom of the Infobox, the image "Florentino_Torres_High_School.png" tricked me. I thought it was a link to the school's website.

I found a website here: http://fths.smartschools.ph/. However, it hasn't been updated for a long time.

If you want the image to link to the school's website, use the "link=" parameter on the "[File:" statement. (See Wikipedia:Extended image syntax)

In short, if your school has a current website, it's a good idea to specify the website's address in the Infobox.

Why were they refused admission?

Where was it originally located when it first opened in 1925?

"Marceline Bautista, the first Filipino principal, who renamed the four Manila High Schools"

How can the principal of one high school have the authority to rename all four Manila public high schools?

"the first Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the Philippines"

If the Supreme Court of the Philippines has eight Associate Justices, how can somebody be the first?

Curriculum

Readers would probably like to see a section that describes the Enriched Science Classes.

What is "Kaisha Caravan"?

The best description I found: The Japan Foundation, Manila wrote a new note: KAISHA CARAVAN.

A little unclear. Would help to follow it with an example—"each club or organization serves as a certain subject area's Office for Student Affairs. For example,...."

"They initiate activities such as student-led projects."

Again, a concrete example would help

• "Awards and recognition"
• "Notable alumni" (for an example, see Manila Science High School#Notable_alumni)
• Notable teachers/staff

"January 2000" is an error, right? It should be "January 2001". If it's not an error, then it should be explained with a footnote to the table.

At some time in the future, the list of "Former principals" should be split into a separate article (such as "List of principals at Florentino Torres High School").

Other possible sections #2

Following the "Former principals" section, you could add any of these sections (in the order specified):

• "See also"
• "References"

At the top of the article, a Wiki Guild of Copy Editors coordinator added the "This article does not cite any references or sources" error template. Every Wikipedia article must include citations from verifiable, reliable sources. [For guidance, see Wikipedia:WikiProject Schools/Article guidelines#Other sections, specifically the section "References".]

Once the article includes citations, then it also must have a "References" section.
