Talk:Spouse of the president of Estonia

Incorrect edit

There is no institution of the First Lady in Estonia. The only piece of legislation mentioning the President's spouse is the President of the Republic Official Perquisites Act that only mentions the President's spouse as far as his/her perquisites go, there are no official titles awarded nor obligations that stem from it. The title of the ‘First Lady’ is made up by the media trying to liken the President's institution to that of the President of the US, down to the lingo.

  • Support. Much better title.  — Amakuru (talk) 15:39, 21 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Support per nom. No basis for using US terminology for Estonia. —  AjaxSmack  02:35, 22 November 2017 (UTC)Reply

  • Support per nom. It often tends to be assumed that the wife of the head of state and/or government is by default the First Lady, but in general that's a very American term. -- Necrothesp (talk) 15:58, 22 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
  • Support As the terminology used in the current title is not in use in Estonia. AusLondonder (talk) 22:50, 22 November 2017 (UTC)Reply
