there is no such vehicle in use that is called a hearse. The vehicle is called a coach after the horse drawn version that was used to carry a casket. hearse just happened to be the most popular version of that horse drawn carriage and is no longer in production

Well, not exactly. Ask any coach manufacturer what the proper nomenclature is, and the answer will be both. Coach seems to be the new, preferred term in the industry, just as we apparently are no longer allowed to use the terms: Casket, Funeral, Funeral Director, Embalmer, Mortician, Show Room, Viewing Parlour, or Funeral Chapel. In a firm that employs new buzz words, such as: Celebration of Life, Remembrance Ceremony, Memorial Planner, Celebrant, Selection Room, Resting Vessel, Gathering Room, ect.,the new parlance of coach would be encourage. Just a case of use trying to reinvent ourselves. --153.19.229.72 (talk) 04:06, 18 February 2013 (UTC)Reply
