notability edit

This article needs significant, reliable, secondary coverage to establish WP:Notability, or else it may best be merged/redirected to a section in George R. R. Martin, Works based on A Song of Ice and Fire or similar. Reddit forums are not reliable sources. Fan gossip sites and YouTubers are not reliable. Blog posts by Martin himself may be reliable per WP:SELFPUB, but articles should not be primarily based on priamry sources per WP:PRIMARY. Wikipedia is not a place for gossip, rumors, and fan trivia. --Animalparty! (talk) 19:56, 30 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Sure, I hope someone will improve the article. For the purpose of establishing notability per WP:BK (the subject of two or more non-trivial published works appearing in sources that are independent of the book itself), one can choose from a diverse spectrum of articles, for example in Independent, usatoday Maxim, as well as international coverage. For the purposes of wikipedia users, I believe references to primary sources (Martin's blog etc.) are in this case more useful (readers can easily verify the exact wording and context), as it is from where the newspapers get most of their info anyway. Info presented through the youtube channel and reddit posts is by Elio Garcia, Martin's collaborator (even though the reddit account might be a fake one, theoretically). If you still believe some sources are not reliable, please tag them. Feel free to remove any gossip and trivia. Perhaps th article can do without much of the "Content" section - I leave it for other editors to decide. WikiHannibal (talk) 21:33, 30 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

"included in" edit

"An abridged version of 30,000 words was included in The Princess and the Queen," we read. Does that mean that The Princess and the Queen *included* an abridged version of this chapter, or that The Princess and the Queen *is* an abridged version of this chapter? 71.163.59.104 (talk) 04:19, 26 May 2019 (UTC)Reply

prequel edit

"The second half of this first volume has been adapted into the HBO series House of the Dragon, a prequel to Game of Thrones."

How is it a "prequel" if it happens 300 years after A Game of Thrones? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 130.105.209.119 (talk) 03:33, 2 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

It's set about 180 years before A Game of Thrones. – Muboshgu (talk) 04:25, 2 September 2022 (UTC)Reply

Adaptation edit

"focusing most heavily on the text "The Dying of Dragons"". I haven't watched HotD yet, but from reading the synopsis, season 1 seems to focus on "Heirs of the Dragon".

Plus: the given source doesn't even mention "The Dying of Dragons", so that seems like own (and also incorrect) research. 165.1.194.41 (talk) 08:36, 15 November 2022 (UTC)Reply
