Talk:FileZilla Server

Latest comment: 13 years ago by Bofum in topic A Sales brochure?

It was requested that this article be renamed but the procedure outlined at WP:RM#How to request a page move did not appear to be followed, and consensus could not be determined. Please request a move again with proper procedure if there is still a desire for the page to be moved. Thank you for time!

Enterprise file servers

edit

I removed this section:

FileZilla Server is probably not suited for high security or large-scale operations. It is not recommended for use with government or for transferring highly sensitive information. As described in the license distributed with every copy of FileZilla or FileZilla Server, there is no warranty for this software.

The first two sentences definitely require a reliable source before they are included. The second sentence is unnecessary as nearly every software license or EULA (for free software and proprietary) includes such a statement. --Hamitr 21:51, 14 May 2007 (UTC)Reply

Removed the wrongful Advert banner

edit

The advert banner was out of place. FileZilla is "free" and "open" software. Listing software features, quite humbly as opposed to many other articles clearly trying to boost commercial products, cannot be seen as "advertising." This software is free and open, i.e., it does not need promotion like commercial software.

Fair use rationale for Image:FileZilla icon.png

edit

Image:FileZilla icon.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

A Sales brochure?

edit

This whole article comes off sounding like a brochure to sell the program. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Bofum (talkcontribs) 02:04, 25 August 2011 (UTC)Reply
