Panlongcheng

edit

Regarding the caption of the Erligang map, the sources say that Panlongcheng was an Erligang site, and that it was an important center. But they do not say that it was the southern center of Erligang. Kanguole 23:39, 10 December 2021 (UTC)Reply

The sources listed in this articles describe it in this way. Applodion (talk) 11:24, 11 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
The sources descrbe Panlongcheng in the ways I've mentioned above. They do not support the specific phrasing that Panlongcheng was "its [i.e. Erligang's] southern center". Kanguole 11:57, 11 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Just as example from Campbell's work: Panlongcheng is described as being like "other Erligang centers" and "Panlongcheng site remained the center of the Central Plains metropolitan tradition Panlongcheng variant" (to be clear: the "Panlongcheng Variant" is described as "Erligang Tradition Panlongcheng Variant" located to the south of the Central Plains centers). We can adjust the caption to "center of an Erligang culture variant" if you like that more. Applodion (talk) 13:06, 11 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
Sure, that change would address my concern. Kanguole 13:42, 11 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
