Former good article nomineeF-Zero Climax was a Video games good articles nominee, but did not meet the good article criteria at the time. There may be suggestions below for improving the article. Once these issues have been addressed, the article can be renominated. Editors may also seek a reassessment of the decision if they believe there was a mistake.

Removed link (from F-Zero series talk page) edit

I removed the link to CaitSith's course editor (I assume he made it, I didn't really bother checking), as I don't think it's particularly appropriate here. I think it'd be useful on a future article on Climax, but until then, it's preserved here.

Development edit

Saw this was up for GA and was going to review it, but I think it would fail on breadth (3a) since it doesn't cover the process of its development other than dates. Wanted to raise this before taking the review. czar  06:25, 28 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I would not be surprised if development information simply doesn't exist, being that it was a rather obscure release in only one country. I think the best that could be found would be something like information related to its announcement, but that would be it. - New Age Retro Hippie (talk) (contributions) 09:43, 28 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
I wouldn't be completely surprised either, but I'd also be the least qualified to make that final "doesn't exist" call as I don't speak Japanese or know the Japanese sources well enough to find where that info might be. I've found that every game has a trickle, either in some magazine, or in some interview with its hotshot producer, or at least a series of mentions that it's in development with release date estimates, or in a history of the company, etc. But I have to ask rather than just assume it's nonexistent. czar  14:48, 28 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thanks for the input. A Google search for "F-Zero クライマックス" on the sites famitsu.com, impress.co.jp, and dengeki.com gives little meaningful context. I did find out Climax sold 5049 copies in its first week... lol. This is the same method I used to cite some TvC: CGoH development before its localization announcement and how I found this 4-page mess for F-Zero: Maximum Velocity (I'll finish it some day). I remain convinced the most coverage this game got was through Nintendo World Report unless a lesser known Japanese magazine got bored one day and scored an interview (I will never find this). To be blunt, I don't want Climax being in my way if I aim for a good topic so if I have to merge it, I will. « Ryūkotsusei » 18:50, 28 May 2014 (UTC)
I personally wouldn't fail a GA for breadth if the sourcing straight up didn't exist, but I'd want to see that at least someone tried. Have you tried asking the jawp WPVG? Have we made inroads there? czar  20:02, 28 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Never tried. Only @Thibbs: seems realistic to me. I will put up notices at WT:ANIME and our project. « Ryūkotsusei » 00:51, 29 May 2014 (UTC)Reply
Thibbs, do you think it would be helpful to ask jawpvg (ja:プロジェクト‐ノート:コンピュータゲーム)? I wish I knew Japanese czar  01:09, 29 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I'll take a quick look if theres possibly any small blurb thats hidden. but, if NARH couldn't find anything, i might not find anything either. but i'll try anyways, just in case. Lucia Black (talk) 00:56, 29 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

as expected, i didn't find much of anything at all. I feel like there might be some little small blurb possibly. Lucia Black (talk) 03:03, 29 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Does someone have access to this book? And, if yes, can this be useful here? Also, I found an event(?) Gabriel Yuji (talk) 19:08, 29 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I doubt anyone has that strategy guide. Despite its name, that event seems to be about the GX/AX games. [1] « Ryūkotsusei » 22:56, 29 May 2014 (UTC)
I also looked into the sources, unfortunately barely any mention of the game at all. I thought maybe we that little blurb it could be turned into "Promotion and release". Lucia Black (talk) 00:48, 30 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

Legacy edit

While we're here, the article could use some expansion in the Legacy department. In my searches, the game is mostly noted as the last F-Zero in a decade now. Worth noting that (use the WP:VG/RS sources) and the status of the series as it relates to this game in a Legacy section (if you can) or at least alluding to these things in a closing Reception paragraph. czar  01:37, 30 May 2014 (UTC)Reply

I never found anything specific to this game. I have rearranged some sentences, but I've purposely avoided dated terms like "10 years".[2] Once a new installment comes, then I'll have a fixed time-frame. « Ryūkotsusei » 06:22, 2 June 2014 (UTC)
