Talk:Expansion valve (steam engine)

Latest comment: 12 years ago by Old Moonraker in topic Merger proposal

The heat pump makes reference to an expansion valve. Seeking more specific information leads to this page. Perhaps someone knows about the heat pump expansion valve and can enter information here. Perhaps a section for steam and heat pumps. Diagrams would be helpful. ~~Russell

Merger proposal edit

The recent expansion (sorry!) here has made much of the proposed source article redundant, and there would be very little needing to be transferred here perhaps just some terminology applying particularly to locomotives. If agreed, I suggest that the main contributor here conducts the move; in this way the material from the old article will be integrated neatly. --Old Moonraker (talk) 11:24, 30 March 2012 (UTC)Reply

  • strong oppose (still). Expansion valves are just one, largely obsolete, means of controlling cut-off. It would be better to delete this article altogether than to redirect cut-off to it. Andy Dingley (talk) 11:21, 30 March 2012 (UTC)Reply
No support, then. As User:Andy Dingley has done all the work, I defer. --Old Moonraker (talk) 20:41, 2 April 2012 (UTC)Reply
