First Sentence edit

Something just doesn't make sense in regards to the very first sentence. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.26.30.144 (talk) 00:25, 26 November 2012 (UTC)Reply

Former law professor edit

I have added a brief reference to the fact that Professor Lee was formerly a law professor at the University of Houston. I will try to add more detail later. Famspear 14:37, 2 November 2007 (UTC)Reply

Re: Sheila Jackson Lee, Elwyn Lee, the Fourth Ward redevelopment in relation to an activist and his master's degree funding edit

The civil rights activist Timothy J. O'Brien, a PhD student at the University of Houston (and author of Mojo Hand: The Life and Music of Lightnin' Hopkins), accused Sheila Jackson Lee of working with Tom Delay in trying to redevelop the Fourth Ward while he was doing his master's degree. He then accused her of conspiring with Elwyn Lee, her husband, who has an administrative job at the University of Houston, of having his funding cut. Elwyn Lee said that the school would never do such a thing.

  • O'Brien had also accused Elwyn Lee of trying to stifle his research by using disciplinary charges filed against him; O'Brien stated his belief that his research could harm Sheila Jackson-Lee's political position.

(O'Brien has since died, due to cancer)

I have no comment on whether these charges were actually valid, and as O'Brien is gone there will likely be no further reliable sourced discussing these that have not been already published. If one does pursue getting this included in an article, make sure you have your sourcing ducks in a row and follow WP:BLP guidelines. For this article (Elwyn Lee) I would recommend expanding this article significantly first before adding this accusation, as otherwise it will be seen as WP:Undue weight (putting too much emphasis on this accusation) WhisperToMe (talk) 22:41, 9 July 2019 (UTC)Reply
