She was known around the GTV newsroom for furthering her own career through the work of others. In particular she'd go over colleagues' heads to garner her own self advancement. Producer Cerys Griffith called her the "biggest bitch" she'd ever known.
Radio Cumbria edit
In her early career, including her time as a reporter at Radio Cumbria, Elaine made much of her talent to get what she wanted using flattery and self-serving 'friendship', exploiting the goodwill of others she worked with and knew.
