Name Transliteration

"El Tatio" DOES NOT translates to "the grandfather" in any way!

TfD nomination of Template:Video

Template:Video has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment at Wikipedia:Templates_for_deletion#Template:Video the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for Deletion page.

The nominator Chris Cunningham/User:Thumperward removed the template from all the articles and then nominated it for deletion. This is a well-known Wikipedia:Ownership gambit by stealth removing a feature with mass edits and then claiming it's not used as a reason for deletion.
He then reverted my attempt to keep the video template on an article page at least until the deletion discussion is completed. This prevents editors from making any comparisons on the technical merits of the template, which further forces you to accept his ownership of articles presenting videos. I have requested a Speedy Keep due to his unconsensed mass edits, until there can be an informed and un-owned editorial discussion on the technical merits.
Until he again re-reverts, you can at least temporarily revert his edit to see what the video template looked like, and then consider the technical issues on their merits which are described at the template deletion discussion. Milo 02:36, 22 March 2008 (UTC)

New temperature proposal

I see that @Tizzi72: has proposed in this article that the temperature of the Puripicar aquifer is 270 degrees rather than 253 as it currently says, using doi:10.2343/geochemj.39.547 as a source. Thing is, Alternatively to a merely meteoric model, chloride waters can be interpreted as admixtures of meteoric and magmatic (circa andesitic) water, which moderately exchanges oxygen isotopes with rocks at a chemical Na/K temperature of about 270°C in the main reservoir, and then undergoes loss of vapor (and eventually mixing with shallow water) and related isotopic effects during ascent to the surface. from the source sounds like that is a hypothetical temperature in a hypothetical system, not a temperature inferred or measured for the El Tatio system. • "On a smaller scale, one can find cones, crusts, mollusc-shaped formations and waterfall-like surfaces.[45]" - "on a smaller scale..." is vague
• "High contents of silica give the waters a blueish colour," - minor, but isn't it "bluish"?
• "greenish hues are owing to iron bacteria.[47]" - too much passive voice; rephrase
• How married are you to keeping the bulleted text rather than making it normal prose? Not sure what bulleting really adds
• Sinter is linked several times though it's already linked earlier in the geo/geo section
• Pictures are really cool. Nice touch.
