Opening heading

"When completed, its full length will include 76 tunnels (with a combined length of 99 km / 61.5 miles) and 1,650 bridges."

In the first paragraph, you mention the project was completed in 2009, and then, in the second paragraph. you say the project will be completed some time in the future.

Which of the two is true?

I think this is a glaring contradiction for an encyclopedic article.

Egnatia Odos (modern road)Greek National Road 2 — Cosistency with other National Road pages. Per Talk:Greek National Road 2#Naming. See also Redirects_for_discussion#Greek_National_Road_2.  Andreas  (T) 14:33, 14 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

There is some controversy here: does the new freeway inherit the name Εθνική Οδός 2, or does this name pertain to the old road as far as it still exists? The numbering of National Roads stems from a list issued in 1963, when several freeways did not exist yet. See also Greek_National_Road_8.  Andreas  (T) 14:48, 14 October 2010 (UTC)Reply

The new road does not inherit in any case the designation national road 2. It is a whole different road. The confusion is on the side of the citizens of Greece, which are not familiar with the 1963 and 2008 decisions that designated the numberings. See also the relevant templates in the Greek Wikipedia. I have also changed the Template:Greekroads in order to include the freeways. --Dead3y3 (talk) 08:58, 19 October 2010 (UTC)Reply
