Same song, re-written words. Richhoncho (talk) 09:16, 16 May 2021 (UTC)Reply

  • Oppose: "Dancing Hero (Eat You Up)" has sufficient individual notability that sets itself apart from "Eat You Up (Angie Gold song)". The cover version was a hit in Japan and it in itself went viral and had its own parody song version. lullabying (talk) 03:25, 31 December 2021 (UTC)Reply
    • Support: Why not just have Dancing Hero be its own section on the Angie Gold song article? There you can talk about the song hitting in Japan and the viral resurgence. From what I've seen Wikipedia has never had separate articles for cover versions, even if they're in different languages. Plus you could redirect "Dancing Hero (Eat You Up)" to the individual section. FreeChurros (talk) 07:33, 18 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
Look at I Will Always Love You. That's a cover arguably more well-known than it's original, and it's still just a section. Nobody argues that Whitney Houston's version should have its own article, even though it possibly outpaces Dolly Parton's in notability. FreeChurros (talk) 07:35, 18 March 2022 (UTC)Reply
