Leto of Dune

Tried to add the source of my addition but apparently Myspace is black listed Dunenewt (talk) 11:14, 15 April 2008 (UTC)

The announcement (http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&friendID=108315751&blogID=378936999) on Kevin J. Anderson's MySpace is interesting, but of course MySpace is blacklisted here; hopefully the new novel will be announced somewhere else soon? I'm also noting this entry from the official Dune site blog, as it pertains to Paul of Dune, and may be useful in this article. — TAnthonyTalk 14:00, 15 April 2008 (UTC)
The MySpace blog has been reposted to Dune Novels. (The Dune Novels "blog" [snicker] is just a mirror of the MySpace and Wordfire ones, anyway, so usually you just have to wait until Kevin's uncle, Mike Anderson, gets around to uploading the content in the DN layout.) I've gone ahead and added the title. (And may I add here on this talk page that I am ever so pleased at the prospect of yet another crap book to diss! :D ) --SandChigger (talk) 08:20, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks, I added it here and in Dune universe. — TAnthonyTalk 15:22, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Heroes series being scrapped midway through?

Can't add it to the main page yet because there's been no OFFICIAL official announcement, but wait for it, because it looks like it's coming in the next couple of weeks. :)

Instead of The Throne of Dune next summer/fall, expect to see The Sisterhood of Dune or something similar from the proposed "Great Schools of Dune" series. --SandChigger (talk) 07:35, 16 June 2010 (UTC)

Heroes series being postponed

According to Kevin J. Anderson's blog on dunebooks.com the last two novels of the Heroes series are postponed. Anderson and Brian Herbert will now work on a trilogy about the founding of the Bene Gesserit Sisterhood instead. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.13.76.27 (talk) 04:49, 27 July 2010 (UTC)

The notes

It really should be noted that nobody has ever seen conclusive proof of the "notes" that "turned up" years after Frank Herbert's death. Apart from his son's say-so which has, needless to say, earned him millions of dollars and hence is hardly an impartial source. The "notes" should therefore really be referred to as "alleged".

I've done a bit of a search for these notes, and can't find any independent evidence that they exist, so I've edited the article appropriately. To be honest, I think the best solution might be simply to cease to refer to their existence, and just say that Herbert Jr. and Anderson wrote prequels in their own right, but as long as the notes are referred to I suppose we need to handle the matter somehow. It's difficult when people say things without proof. What's particularly inconsistent is Herbert Sr.'s comfortable acceptance of the "Dune Encyclopedia" (for which he wrote a foreword, I believe), and then his apparent wholesale dumping of much of its history and characterisation in his "notes". (Of course, one might infer that what I am saying is "we all know what's really going on here, but the weakness of Wikipedia is that we can't explicitly say so", but I wouldn't wish to convey any such impression; what we can do is handle the matter in a way that draws the reader's attention appropriately.) We have discussed the notes in a few other articles, and "allegedly" is a bit "guilty until proven innocent." They say there are notes and we have no evidence to prove otherwise, so doubting them in this way is slightly slanderous — the burden of proof is on us, and we got nothin'. — TAnthonyTalk 19:28, 4 November 2008 (UTC)

Hello fellow Wikipedians,

I have just added archive links to 26 external links on Dune prequel series. Please take a moment to review my edit.
