Merge (very little) and redirect to Failte Ireland edit

This is a weak article on a body planned to be dissolved long ago, with other regional tourist bodies, and in fact deleted in 2012. VisitDublin and the two Dublin tourist offices are operated by Fáilte Ireland. Let's boldly wrap this up, no need for a memorial piece. SeoR (talk) 19:07, 18 May 2020 (UTC)
- Agreed. According to the "history" section of the Fáilte Ireland website, the Dublin region tourism organisation (RTO) was formed (under Fáilte Ireland) in the 1960s, merged with another RTO in the 1980s, split again in the 1990s, and then its responsibilities merged again under the broader Fáilte Ireland remit in 2012. We don't really need a standalone article to communicate that. The Fáilte_Ireland#Tourism_regions could easily be expanded to include a little bit of this history. And the Dublin Tourism title redirect there. It's otherwise not clear why this RTO needs its own article (except, as was clearly the case when this article was first created, for promotional/COI purposes).... - Good. I'll give it a couple more days, then action this. I also considered just PRODding, but this is more appropriate, as it was once a very real thing, also running Malahide Castle and other one or two attractions. It's been gone a while, though, and the article was never great anyway. For that matter, the Fáilte Ireland article could use an injection too. SeoR (talk) 15:05, 19 May 2020 (UTC)
