The result of the move request was: move the disambiguation page as proposed; the history of Dualism, and its old talk page, can be found at Dualisms/Talk:Dualisms. Dekimasuよ! 20:44, 6 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

Dualism (disambiguation)Dualism – See the proposal for breaking up the Dualism article at Talk:Dualism. I outlined the reasons why there isn't a WP:PTOPIC and then there was a discussion involving several users, which ultimately agreed. All the content currently in the Dualism article (except some of the lead) is now available at Dualistic cosmology (I copied and edited it and left templates according to Wikipedia's copying policy). • Support. I read the linked discussion and I agree with the proposal: there is not a primary topic for the "Dualism", and it takes a broad range of meanings, philosophical, religious and mundane. I don't think that the term satisfies the WP:BROADCONCEPT provision of type of thing that is capable of being described in an article either – it's just too vague and the underlying narrow concepts are too dissimilar to be useful to the reader who stumbles upon it. Gazelle55, thank you for the initiative and the effort to untangle this. No such user (talk) 11:18, 24 March 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • What do we propose to do with the article at Dualism? I understand that there was merging involved already, but I don't feel comfortable overwriting the page at the bar title without a deletion discussion. Technically this is a malformed request because the target is occupied. Dekimasuよ! 18:13, 6 April 2018 (UTC)Reply
  • There is nothing being lost except the first two sentences of the lead and a couple tangential see also links. External links, references, notes, templates, categories, and all the content can be found at Dualistic cosmology or in a few cases at Mind-body dualism. If it still should be listed for deletion first though I can do that. My concern with that however is that since the page's history is being used as attribution for the pages the material was copied into (with templates for copied material placed on all talk pages involved), deleting the page would erase that -- which is why I originally proposed a merger before another user pointed out a move would be appropriate. I'm a pretty new editor so I don't really know the best way to proceed technically. Gazelle55 (talk) 19:25, 6 April 2018 (UTC)Reply

A change such as the one agreed above can leave wikilinks leading to a disambiguation page. Several gnomes tidy up the resulting mess and usually manage to divert the links to the right articles. In this case we have made inroads but lack the specialised subject knowledge to resolve the last few dozen links. Please can you help? Portal:Philosophy/Selected article/27 also needs attention.
